SENCAP Career Academy Option for 2024-2025
NOTE: If you have any questions or would like to enroll in the Southeast Community College Career Academy program, please contact Wahoo High School Counselor John Harris (443-4332 ext. 3229).
SENCAP is a partnership program with Southeast Community College and high schools in the same area. The program provides students with more opportunities to learn about careers and to earn college credit while still in high school.
Opportunities provided by SENCAP include: career training; networking with students from other schools; job shadowing opportunities; exciting field trips; many "hands on" experiences and much more.
The classes are college level course work and are for college credit. This is a DUAL credit option since credit is offered for both college and high school credit. PLEASE NOTE: In evaluating financial processes between Wahoo Public Schools and SCC, starting with the 2024-2025 school year and for future school years, students choosing to enroll in SENCAP courses will be responsible for paying the tuition, fees and purchasing any required textbooks for SENCAP courses.
The Program for 2024-2025 is open for all juniors and seniors. Sophomores who are 16 years of age may be allowed to enroll in SENCAP courses if approved by both WHS and SCC officials.
PLEASE NOTE: Any student registering for a dual/SENCAP course, then transferring out of the Wahoo Public Schools District will still be responsible for completing and paying for the course. Payments will be made online to Southeast Community College.

Portfolio Assignment Summaries
In addition to the SCC dual credit pathway courses, SENCAP students complete a supplemental online student portfolio. The student portfolio assignments, outlined in the links below, provide the student with an opportunity to explore a variety of careers in their pathway of interest. These assignments also encourage self-reflection, personal development, goal setting, and discussion among like-minded peers.
Textbooks
Students taking SENCAP courses will be required to purchase their own textbooks. A full list of required textbooks is posted on the Southeast Community College Bookstore website: www.sccbookstore.com. Textbooks can also be ordered on this website, or by calling (800) 642-4075. Some textbooks may be electronically embedded into the Canvas course. You will be billed for the cost of any eBook by the college. If you choose to purchase or rent your textbook(s) from another retailer, please be sure to contact the SCC Bookstore to double check the accuracy of the ISBN and edition number, prior to placing your order.
Articulation Agreements
Click HERE to view the Southeast Community College Articulation Matrix (This document will allow you to determine transferability of SECC courses to other Nebraska colleges and universities). It is highly recommended that students and parents verify with their chosen colleges/universities that dual courses they are planning to take will be accepted for transfer to that institution.
