Brust Takes Third Place at Annual Science Fair
WMS 6th Grader Verifies What Happens when "the Rubber Meets the Road"
Wahoo Middle Schooler Hannah Brust recently participated in the Strategic Air & Space Museum Science Fair and won 3rd place in her division. This year's fair was held on Thursday, March 24.
Brust’s project was titled “Tire Turmoil: Where the Rubber Meets the Road.”
Brust found out in her investigation that rubber tires do not end up on the side of the road in the soil, but are burned off into the atmosphere. All of her work was done on her own time with her family’s support.
Brust competed against 37 other talented scientist in 5th and 6th grades. She also received two “judges choice” awards.
“It was a lot of work but it was worth it and really fun,” Brust commented. “It was cool to see all the other projects and see how they came up with their ideas. I strongly recommend more students do a science fair project and I look forward to next year’s competition.”
Way to go Hannah!
