WMS student council raises $800 for 2015 Saunders Co. VFW Toy Drive
Donations to help make Christmas special for area children
In preparation for a season of giving, the students of Wahoo Middle School have taken a selfless lead!
The WMS Student Council has raised $800 in a recent school-wide effort to raise funds for the 2015 Saunders County VFW Christmas Toy Drive! The money will be used to put smiles on the faces of many area children during the Christmas season.
That money was presented by Student Council officers yesterday to Wahoo High School Principal Jason Libal, who coordinates the annual toy drive. Those present as the check was handed over included, from left: Jerstan Zeleny, Grant Crockett, Mr. Libal, Lillie Mann, Paige Peterson and Kaitlyn Herndon.
"It was with great appreciation and pride to accept the generous VFW Christmas Drive donation provided by the Wahoo Middle School student council and student body," Libal commented. "This very generous donation will help in offsetting expenses related to funding toy and food baskets given at Christmas time. Once again, Wahoo Middle School has shown a true ability to put others before themselves. I look forward to the 8th grade student council members bringing these attributes to Wahoo High School next year. A huge thank you to Wahoo Middle School!"
Well done WMS!
