The Wahoo High School music and drama department performed The Addams Family- A New Musical Comedy on April 7-10, and entertained over 1,300 patrons!
The musical was well received by all who attended and audience members marveled at the costumes, set, special effects lighting, live instrumental pit, and most of all, the talent of the Wahoo High School students who brought the show to life!
The show was choreographed by Michelle Ingle. Set designed by Landon Spicka using a CAD program on his computer. We had amazing parent volunteers helping with the construction of the set and students helped paint the set. We had students that managed the stage during the show, students operating lights, and a parent volunteer operating the sound equipment. The instrumental pit was composed of Wahoo students, a former student teacher, current student teacher, college music students, and an assortment of Nebraska music educators. It took a village to set up and operate this show, but the outcome was incredible.
Another highlight was enjoying the spooky treats offered in our Mayhem Mansion Cafe including Mustachio Cookies, Kooky Cupcakes, and even “The Uncle Fester” Smoothie.
This is a show that will not be forgotten any time soon, especially by the directors, cast and crew. They all agree that it was quite a challenging journey, but the hard work paid off and was well worth it. Thanks to everyone who came to “Be Part of the Family” for a very special show that will always live in our hearts and be a fond memory for years to come.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
