This year’s team is led by senior Josh Johnson, who enters the season as a three-year letterman. Johnson is accompanied on the varsity team by juniors Josh Abbott, Jack Maass, and Seth Anderson. The final member of the varsity is freshman Chase Aldrich.
The JV squad is made up of four freshmen: Brett Greenfield, Jordan Thorson, Braedenn Olson and Michael Holmes.
The Warriors opened the season with the Gretna Invite. Aldrich, Maass, and Anderson were all first timers at this tournament. Aldrich fired a team-best 92, leading the Warriors to a 9th place finish.
The team traveled to Blair for a triangular with Ashland and Fort Calhoun. Once again Aldrich led the way with a 9-hole score of 41, good enough for the dual medalist. Johnson scored a season-best 47, and Anderson fired a career-best 51 to help lead the Warriors to their first victory of the season.
The following day Wahoo teed it up at the D.C. West Invite. Again Aldrich scored a team-best 92. This time that number was good enough for a 14th place medal. The Warriors finished in 8th place.
The final tournament of this early season was the Ashland Invite. The team fired a season-low 382, as Aldrich just missed out on a 20th place medal.
The Warrior JV team will play at Ashland on the 14th of April as they get their first real taste of high school golf.
The Warrior Varsity Team will resume play next on Monday, April 18, as they take on Mount Michael in an away dual.
