13th Annual Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast Draws Record Crowd of 714!
Annual Event Celebrates Literacy & Dr. Seuss' Birthday
On Tuesday, March 2, 714 students and families enjoyed the 13th annual Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast at Wahoo Elementary, sponsored by our PTO organization.
Superintendent Ed Rastovski, Elementary Principal Jane Wiebold and members of the Board of Education greeted guests as they arrived for this event.
Dr. Seuss book characters came alive to the delight of the crowd. Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and Horton the Elephant created chaos and good wishes amongst the guests!
One of our kindergarten students wanted to know if “that was the real Cat in the Hat?” Another student inquired, “how old do you think Dr. Seuss is?”
One parent shared that she told her spouse “he was probably the only parent that was not there!” What an awesome impression Dr. Seuss’ characters must have made OR maybe it was the breakfast that was served!
Senator Chris Langemeier, Mayor Jerry Johnson, Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz, Chief of Police Ken Jackson, and Librarian Denise Lawver were some of the dignitaries in attendance that had been invited by the 5th grade students.
At the end of the day, 20 names were drawn as winners of the various Dr. Seuss related door prizes.
THANK YOU to our Wahoo Elementary/Middle School PTO for sponsoring this annual event. See you next year for Green Eggs and Ham!
