Final Season Record: 15-7
FROM COACH WEYERS:
The Warriors finished the 2017 season with a final record of 15-7. After earning the #2 seed in the district tournament, the Warriors were upset by Arlington in extra innings 1-0. Although it was a disappointing ending to the season, there were a number of highlights throughout the season, including winning the Capital Conference Tournament 2-1 over Platte Valley. The Warriors also broke the all-class state record for lowest team ERA in a season with a 2.21 team-earned run average. We would like to thank all the seniors for their time and effort they put into being a part of this team.

DISTRICTS:
The 2017 B-2 District Baseball Tournament was played May 5-8 at Den Hartog Baseball Field in Lincoln. Wahoo/Raymond Central/Lincoln Lutheran earned the #2 seed, and debuted in Game 2 against #3 Arlington (Saturday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m.). The game went scoreless through 7 innings, and unfortunately Arlington plated a run in the top of the 8th, which proved enough for the win, putting an end to the Warrior season. Wahoo/Raymond Central/Lincoln Lutheran Falls to Arlington After Eighth Inning Score
The Warriors stayed in it until the end, but Arlington pulled away late in a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
The game was tied at zero with Arlington batting and scoring its lone run in the top of the eighth. The pitching was strong on both sides. Arlington pitchers struck out five, while Wahoo/RC/LL sat down seven.
Warrior pitcher Chase Stebbing took the loss for the team. He tossed eight innings, surrendering one run, seven hits, and striking out seven. Kasey Ohoutka went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Warriors in hits.
Arlington collected seven hits. Johnson and Theiler each collected multiple hits for Arlington. Reed went 0-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.

Wahoo/RC/LL took the lead late and defeated Blair 5-2 on Tuesday.
Blair captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Rasmussen drove in one run when he singled. The Warriors knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning. Blake Kaiser singled on a 3-2 count in the fourth inning, scoring one run.
The game was tied at one with the Warriors batting in the top of the fifth when Cameron Quick singled off of Macek, driving in two runs.
Mitchell McGill earned the win. He pitched seven innings, surrendering two runs, seven hits, striking out two, and walking zero. McGill went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field. Ryan Ickler had four chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Warriors blew out Omaha South 9-3 on Friday.
Omaha South captured the lead in the second inning. Rangel grounded out, scoring one run.
The Warriors took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning, starting when Ryan Ickler homered off of South pitcher Victor Rivas, driving in one run. Rivas induced Brenton Davis to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run was scored, and there was an error, scoring another run.
Wahoo/RC/LL also scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Davis and a single by Billy Hancock.
Blake Kaiser earned the win. He went six innings, surrendering one run, four hits, striking out four, and walking zero. The Warriors collected 13 hits. Hancock, Tom Tewes, Cameron Quick, and Kasey Ohnoutka each collected multiple hits. Ohnoutka, Quick, Tewes, and Hancock each collected two hits to lead the team.

The Warriors defeated Fort Calhoun 14-2 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two, with the Warriors batting in the top of the fifth, when a Pioneer error scored the first of what would be 12 runs in the inning.
The Warriors captured the lead in the first inning, when Davis’ sac fly scored one run. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Fort Calhoun tied things up at two. Fort Calhoun scored one run when Bradburn doubled with one out in the fourth inning.
Wahoo/RC/LL secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the fifth inning, scoring on a single by Cameron Quick, a single by Brenton Davis, a single by Karson Hesser, a single by Kaey Ohnoutka, a single by Mitchell McGill, a single by Quick, a single by Davis, a single by Colton June, and a single by Billy Hancock.
Nick Oden earned the win, tossing five innings, surrendering two runs, seven hits, striking out three, and walking zero. The Warriors collected 14 hits. Quick, McGill, Hancock, Hesser, and Davis collected multiple hits. McGill and Quick each managed three hits to the team.

The Warriors defeated the Platte Valley (Yutan/Mead/Ashland-Greenwood) Patriots 8-4 in a back-and-forth affair on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with the Warriors batting in the bottom of the fourth when Billy Hancock singled off of Nelson, driving in one run.
Platte Valley took an early lead in the first inning. Kult drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
The Warriors took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. Among those, Tom Tewes doubled off of Nelson, driving in two runs.
Wahoo/RC/LL scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Mitchell McGill, a double by Cameron Quick, and a single by Brenton Davis.

The 2017 Nebraska Capitol Conference Baseball Tournament was played April 13 & 17. The Wahoo/Raymond Central/Lincoln Lutheran Warriors earned the #2 seed, and shut-out #3 Platteview in Game 4, 10-0 in 6 innings (Stebbing also pitched a no-hitter!). Chase Stebbing didn't allow a single hit as the Warriors defeated the Trojans 10-0 on Monday.
Wahoo/RC/LL took an early lead when Billy Hancock drove in one run with a single in the first inning. The Warriors scored eight runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Blake Kaiser, a single by Karson Hesser, a walk by Cameron Quick, a single by Brenton Davis, and a double by Hancock.
Stebbing earned the win, throwing six innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, and striking out 13. The Warriors had ten hits in the game. Hancock, Kaiser, and Davis each collected multiple hits the team. Hancock led the team with three hits in three at bats.
The Warriors were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hancock had the most chances in the field with 13.

Nick Oden earned the win. He threw six innings, giving up three runs, six hits, and striking out five. Mitchell McGill, Icker, and Brenton Davis each drove in one run to lead the team.
The Warriors stole eight bases during the game. Tom Tewes led the way with two stolen bases.

This marks the Warriors' first victory over the powerhouse Roncalli team in program history.

Wahoo/RC/LL defeated Waverly 10-3 in a back-and-forth affair on Friday. The game was tied at two with the Warriors batting in the top of the second when there was an error, scoring one run.
An early lead helped propel the Warriors to victory. They scored on a two-out double by Brenton Davis in the first inning, an error and a groundout by Kasey Ohnoutka in the second inning.
Wahoo/RC/LL scored four runs in the fifth inning. The Warriors’ big inning was driven by a single by Karson Hesser, a single by Tucker Hancock, and a groundout by Mitchell McGill.
Chase Stabbing earned the win. He pitched two innings, giving up two runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking zero. McGill threw four innings, as two relievers helped finish off the victory. McGill and Ohnoutka each drove in two runs to lead the team

Despite a four-run deficit in the sixth inning, the Warriors almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-6 to the Gretna Dragons on Monday.
Wahoo/RC/LL took an early lead in the first inning, scoring one run on an error. Gretna took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the seventh inning, the Warriors scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Tom Tewes and a single by Thomas Otte.
Tewes took the loss for the Warriors. He tossed two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, five hits, and striking out two.
Wahoo/RC/LL had nine hits in the game. Tewes and Ickler each collected two hits to lead the team. The Warriors were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Billy Hancock had the most chances in the field with nine.

Both teams were strong on the mound Friday, but the Warriors defeated Mount Michael Benedictine 3-1.

Mount Michael collected five hits. Groff and Riddle each collected multiple hits for the Knights.
