Coach Weyers' Season Wrap-up:

The 2018 season was full of firsts for the Wahoo/Lincoln Lutheran/Bishop Neumann co-op. It was the first time in the program’s history that Wahoo and Lincoln Lutheran teamed up with Bishop Neumann High School. Wahoo/LL/BN beat D.C. West in the first round of the state tournament to pick up the program’s first-ever win in the State Tournament. The team also was rated # 1 by the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal-Star for the first time ever.

After winning the B5 District Championship 6-1 vs. Waverly, the Warriors were awarded the #1 overall seed in the State Tournament. It was the first time in the program’s history that they entered State as the # 1 seed. The Warriors finished the season winning 11 of 12 games before finishing the year with a disappointing 1-2 record at State. They finished the season 17-6 overall.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
With its 6-1 victory over Waverly to claim the B-5 District Championship, the Wahoo/Lincoln Lutheran/Bishop Neumann Warriors qualified for the 2018 State Baseball Championships, earning the #1 seed in Class B. The Warriors defeated the #8-seeded D.C. West Falcons 3-1 in Game 1 on Saturday, May 12, marking the first State Baseball game victory in school history. Unfortunately, the Warriors fell short in Games 7 and 10, losing to 2-4 to Hastings (#5 seed), and 2-3 to Elkhorn (#7 seed). Click HERE to view the entire State Championship bracket. Class B state baseball: Elkhorn eliminates Warriors (Ben Jones - Lincoln Journal Star)

Warrior Baseball fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 3-2 loss to Elkhorn on Tuesday. Elkhorn scored on a double by Gutschow, a triple by Ainsworth, and a single by Christo in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Elkhorn pitchers struck out eight, while the Warriors sat down six.

Headley led things off on the hill for Elkhorn. He allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out three.

Luke Sousek started the game for the Warriors. He went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six.

The Warriors tallied six hits on the day. Trey Ahrens and Karson Hesser all managed multiple hits. Hesser and Ahrens each collected two hits to lead the team. The Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field. Billy Hancock had the most chances in the field with six.

Elkhorn was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ainsworth had the most chances in the field with eight.

The Warriors lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat to Hastings on Monday. The game was tied at two with Hastings batting in the bottom of the fifth when Sam Wibbels singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Warrior Baseball got things moving in the second inning, when Kasey Ohnoutka singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Tyson Gatto was on the hill for Hastings. He allowed four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Chase Stebbing started the game for the Warriors. He went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six.

Stebbing, Ohnoutka, Trey Ahrens, and Billy Hancock all had one hit to lead the team.

Wibbels led Hastings with two hits in three at bats. Hastings was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Connor Laux had the most chances in the field with six.

Both teams were strong on the hill Saturday, but the Warriors were able to survive having bases loaded in the top of 7, and defeated Douglas County West 3-1. Warrior Baseball pitchers allowed just four hits to Douglas County West.

In the bottom of the third inning, Wahoo/LL/BN tied things up at one. Karson Hesser singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Warriors pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Colby Bliss drew a walk, scoring one run, and Trey Ahrens drew a walk, scoring one run.

Austin Scott was the winning pitcher. He surrendered one run on four hits over six and a third innings, striking out one. Cameron Quick threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Quick recorded the last two outs to earn the save.

Renter toed the rubber for Douglas County West. He allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out one.

Hesser, Quick, Chase Stebbing, Kasey Ohnoutka, and Bliss each collected one hit to lead the team.

Douglas County West was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Wald made the most plays with seven.

Jonah Reiser was on the pitcher's mound for Waverly. He allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Jay Adams threw two innings in relief.

The Warriors racked up ten hits. Hancock, Karson Hesser, and Trey Ahrens each managed multiple hits. Hancock led the team with three hits in four at bats. Warrior Baseball was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Hancock had the most chances in the field with nine.

Thatcher Kozal went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Waverly in hits.

Wahoo/LL/BN knocked in six runs in the first on its way to an 11-3 victory over Falls City on Saturday. Their big bats were led by Trey Ahrens, Karson Hesser, Cameron Quick, Chase Stebbing, and Colby Bliss, all driving in runs in the frame.

Austin Scott took the win. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking one. Thomas Otte threw four and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jake Craig toed the rubber for Falls City. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over four innings. Kade Bredemeier threw two innings out of the bullpen.

Warrior Baseball tallied 16 hits in the game. Hesser, Stebbing, Quick, Otte, and Bliss all managed multiple hits. Stebbing and Hesser all had three hits to lead the team.

Wahoo/LL/BN scored more runs than Platteview, and took the victory on Monday to the tune of 4-2.

The Warriors got things started in the first inning when Trey Ahrens singled and scored one run.

Austin Scott led the Warriors to victory on the pitcher's mound. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits, and striking out three. Cameron Quick threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Michaels started the game for Platteview. He allowed seven hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one. Roesler threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Warrior Baseball racked up eight hits. Ahrens and Colby Bliss each had two hits to lead the team.

Babe led Platteview with two hits in three at bats.

Chase Stebbing threw a gem on Saturday for the Warriors, allowing zero runs and besting Concordia by a score of 10-0 in five innings.

Wahoo/LL/BN secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fifth inning. The Warriors' big bats were led by Karson Hesser, Kasey Ohnoutka, Cameron Quick, Thomas Otte, and Luke Sousek, all knocking in runs in the inning.

A single by Olson in the second inning was a positive for Concordia.

Stebbing was credited with the victory. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Kissell led things off on the hill for Concordia. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out three.

Warrior Baseball tallied nine hits. Colby Bliss and Trey Ahrens each collected two hits to lead the team. Warrior Baseball didn't commit a single error in the field. Billy Hancock had the most chances in the field with nine.

Cameron Quick would not be denied at the plate on Friday, picking up four hits and leading the Warriors to a 10-2 win over Arlington. Quick singled in the first, singled in the fourth, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Wahoo/LL/BN opened up scoring in the first inning. Tucker Hancock drew a walk, scoring one run.

Luke Sousek was the winning pitcher. He went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out eight. Quick threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Rieken was on the mound for Arlington. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Pittman threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.

Warrior Baseball had 11 hits in the game. Quick and Colby Bliss each had multiple hits. Quick went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Despite seeing its four-run lead whittled down by the end, Warrior Baseball still held off Bennington for a 5-4 victory on Tuesday. Bennington scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Prosoki and a single by Wullenwaber.

Bennington scored three runs in the sixth inning, but the Warriors still managed to pull out the victory. Prosoki and Wullenwaber each had RBIs in the big inning.

Wahoo/LL/BN fired up the offense in the first inning. Colby Bliss hit a solo homer.

Austin Scott got the win, lasting seven innings and allowing six hits and four runs with six strike outs and one walk.

Schumacher got the start for Bennington. He allowed six hits and five runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Warrior Baseball socked two home runs on the day. Billy Hancock had a long ball in the fourth inning. Bliss had a dinger in the first inning.

The Warriors totaled six hits in the game. Kasey Ohnoutka and Bliss each collected multiple hits for Warrior Baseball. Bliss and Ohnoutka each managed two hits to lead the team.

Wahoo/LL/BN weathered a scare by the Bucks in the fifth inning where the Warriors coughed up three runs, but still won 10-4 on Monday. Plauts, Steckelberg, and McCoy each had RBIs in the frame.

Warrior Baseball secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. The Warriors’ big bats in the inning were led by singles by Kasey Ohnoutka, Trey Ahrens, Billy Hancock, and Cameron Quick, and a double by Karson Hesser.

Warrior Baseball opened up scoring in the first inning. Plauts threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Warriors.

The Warriors scored six runs in the second inning. Big bats for the team were led by Ohnoutka, Ahrens, Hesser, Hancock, and Quick, who all drove in runs.

Thomas Otte pitched the victory. He allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking zero. Nick Oden threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Plauts got the start for Branched Oak (Raymond Central/Malcolm). He lasted two innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs, while striking out two and walking one. Steckelberg and Kuhn entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

Wahoo/LL/BN collected 12 hits. Hancock and Colton June all managed multiple hits for Warrior Baseball. June and Hancock each had two hits to lead the team.

Durrett led Branched Oak with two hits in three at bats.

Saturday's game against Ralston was a heartbreaker for Warrior Baseball, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at two with Ralston batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored two runs for the Rams.

Sailors got the start for Ralston. He allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five.

Chase Stebbing got the start for the Warriors. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs, while striking out nine and walking one. Austin Scott threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Nick Oden went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Warriors in hits.

Ralston saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Wilke and Overkamp each managed multiple hits for Ralston.

Wahoo/LL/BN took the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Waverly on Thursday. The game was tied at four with the Warriors batting in the top of the sixth when Chase Stebbing singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

The Warriors fired up the offense in the first inning and scored one run when Karson Hesser doubled.

Wahoo/LL/BN notched three runs in the fifth inning. The Warriors scored runs on a passed ball by Colby Bliss.

Warrior Baseball racked up six hits. Colby Bliss and Karson Hesser each managed multiple hits for the Warriors. Hesser and Bliss each collected two hits to lead.

Austin Scott threw a gem on Tuesday for Warrior Baseball, allowing zero runs and besting Arlington by a score of 2-0.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Scott struck out eight, while Arlington pitchers sat down 11.

Wahoo/BN/LL opened up scoring in the second inning. Thomas Otte grounded out, scoring one run.

A single by Borgmann in the sixth inning was a positive for Arlington.

Scott was credited with the victory for Warrior Baseball. He lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and zero runs, while striking out eight and walking one.

Koch was on the mound for Arlington. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out ten. Vogt threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

Tucker Hancock, Trey Ahrens, and Colby Bliss each collected one hit to lead Warrior Baseball.

Arlington didn't commit a single error in the field. Allen had the most chances in the field with 11.

Warrior Baseball was victorious over Douglas County West, 7-2.

The Wahoo/LL/BN Warriors got things moving in the first inning. Billy Hancock's sac fly scored one run. They scored four runs in the third inning. The Warriors' big bats were led by Hancock, Kasey Ohnoutka, and Trey Ahrens, who all drove in runs.

Luke Sousek was the winning pitcher for the Warriors. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Thomas Otte and Nick Oden entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Gernandt led things off on the hill for Douglas County West. He surrendered five runs on seven hits over two and a third innings, striking out one. Wald and Hays entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Wahoo/LL/BN tallied 11 hits in the game. Karson Hesser, Ahrens, and Otte all managed multiple hits. Ahrens and Hesser all had three hits to lead the Warriors.

Graham went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Douglas County West in hits.

The Wahoo/LL/BN Warriors watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-0 loss to Skutt Catholic on Monday. Skutt took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Warriors struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the SkyHawks, giving up seven runs.

Skutt opened up scoring in the first inning, when Oswald singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for the Warriors was a single by Trey Ahrens in the first inning.

Wesely got the start for Skutt. He lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.

Chase Stebbing got the start for the Warriors. He allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Karson Hesser threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Billy Hancock and Ahrens each collected one hit to lead the Warriors.

The SkyHawks racked up eight hits in the game. Jackson, Sudbeck, and Stevens each managed multiple hits. Skutt Catholic was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Sudbeck made the most plays with five.

Both teams were strong on the mound, but Roncalli Catholic was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory on Tuesday.

Austin Scott started the game for the Warriors and recorded 26 outs. Warrior Baseball lost despite out-hitting Roncalli Catholic four to one.

One bright spot for Wahoo/LL/BN was a single by Trey Ahrens in the third inning.

Gorczyca led things off on the hill for Roncalli Catholic. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out 12 and walking one. Scott led things off on the hill for the Warriors. He allowed one hit and one run over eight and two-thirds innings, striking out nine.

Tucker Hancock, Ahrens, Colby Bliss, and Billy Hancock each collected one hit to lead the Warriors. Anderson led Roncalli Catholic with one hit in four at bats.

Colby Bliss led the Warriors with two hits in three at bats. Wahoo/LL/BN was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Billy Hancock made the most plays with eight.

Knoell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Nebraska City in hits.
