Congratulations to the Wahoo High School Class of 2017!

This year's senior class celebrated its final day of school on Wednesday, May 3. Graduation was celebrated on Sunday, May 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Sixty-seven percent of this year's graduates plan to attend a four-year college or university, 20 percent plan to attend a two-year college, 5% will attend a technical or trade school, 3 percent will enlist into a branch of the military, and 5 percent are undecided.

Seniors will attend 22 different post-secondary learning institutions, the largest numbers attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (10), the University of Nebraska at Omaha (7), and Doane University (5). Four seniors will enlist in active or reserve military.

This senior class also posted impressive ACT results. Of the 84 percent who took the ACT, 25 seniors scored a 25 or better, and 5 seniors scored a 30 or better! The average ACT score for this class was 23.5 (the state average is 21.4)!

Thirty-two seniors have so far been awarded local scholarships, totaling an estimated $55,000.
