Congratulations to the Wahoo High School Class of 2023!

This year's senior class celebrated its final day of school on Wednesday, May 10. Graduation will be celebrated on Sunday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Fifty-six percent of this year's graduates plan to attend a four-year college or university, 25 percent plan to attend a two-year college, 16 percent will join the workforce or are undecided about their future choice, and three percent will enlist into a branch of the military.

Seniors will attend 26 different post-secondary learning institutions, the largest numbers attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (10), the University of Nebraska at Omaha (6), and Southeast Community College (12).

This senior class also realized success on the ACT: 17 seniors scored a 25 or better, and two seniors scored a 30 or better.

Seventy-five percent of seniors applied for local scholarships. More than $80,000 in local scholarships were awarded to this year's senior class.

Samuel Dean Biggerstaff is the son of Angela and Dean Biggerstaff. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall and major in PGA Golf Management.

Megan Frances Robinson is the daughter of Lana and John Robinson. She plans to attend South Dakota State University, major in Civil Engineering, and will receive a commission as an officer through Army ROTC. She is a member of the National Honor Society.


Dominek Louis Rohleder is the son of Greg Rohleder and Rebecca Stuck and stepson of Brittney Rohleder and Mike Stuck. He plans to attend Midland University and major in Strength and Conditioning.


Hayli Grace Ruble is the daughter of DeLani Kibbe and Shawn Ruble.  She plans on attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Music Education.


Logan Eugene Scott
is the son of Julie and Todd Scott. He plans to attend the University of Chicago and major in Molecular Engineering. He is a member of the National Honor Society.


Sophie Raye Sherman is the daughter of Natalie and Eric Sherman. She plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Elementary Education. She is a member of the National Honor Society.


Anthony Edward Simon is the son of Carol and Jake Simon. He plans to attend Briar Cliff University and major in Business.


Treyten Micheal Patrick Simon is the son of Janelle and Chad Simon. He plans to attend Briar Cliff University and major in Business.


Joshua Allan Snelling is the son of Karen and Clay Snelling. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Computer Science.


Jozef Phillip Sommer is the son of Svettina Sommer. He plans to attend Southeast Community College and his major is undeclared.


Landon Worent Spicka is the son of Sara and Robert Spicka. Landon plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Kearney and major in Theatre Production and Design. He is a member of the National Honor Society.


Megan Elizabeth Steele is the daughter of Connie Edwards and Mark Steele. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Forensic Chemistry. She is a member of the National Honor Society.


Samantha Nicole Sudik is the daughter of Deb and Steve Sudik. She plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in Business- Pre-Law. She is a member of the National Honor Society.


Samantha Rachel Sutton is the daughter of Rose and Mark Sutton. She plans to attend University of Nebraska-Kearney and major in Advertising and Public Relations. She is a member of the National Honor Society.


Jaiden Nicole Swanson is the daughter of Marcy and Todd Swanson. She plans to attend Cowley Community College and major in Nursing.


Jake Reid Westlund is the son of Tina Unger and Scott Westlund. He plans to attend Metropolitan Community College and major in Business.


Seth Lee Williams is the son of Tammy and Greg Williams. He plans to attend Hutchinson Community College and major in Agriculture Business.
