Congratulations Class of 2024

Congratulations to the Wahoo High School Class of 2024!

This year's senior class celebrated its final day of school on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Graduation was celebrated on Sunday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Forty-eight percent of this year's graduates plan to attend a four-year college or university, Twenty-four percent plan to attend a two-year college, twenty-eight percent will either join the workforce or will enlist into a branch of the military.

Seniors will attend 24 different post-secondary learning institutions, the largest numbers attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (8), the University of Nebraska at Omaha (12), and Southeast Community College (9).

This senior class also realized success on the ACT: 17 seniors scored a 25 or better, and 8 seniors scored a 30 or better.

Seventy percent of seniors applied for local scholarships. Nearly $80,000 in local scholarships were awarded to this year's senior class.

Kyle Edward Babst is the son of Nicole and Greg Babst. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Construction Engineering.

*Cadence Jo Bailar is the daughter of Jennifer Foster and Brent Bailar and the step-daughter of Luke Foster and Darcy Bailar. She plans to attend South Dakota State University and major in Civil Engineering.

Mariah Jade Baker is the daughter of Heather Wood and Robby Baker. She was an early graduate. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Business Administration.

Nadia Sue Baker is the daughter of Kelly and Matthew Baker. She plans to attend Wayne State College and major in Dental Hygienics.

*Kassidy Ann Beavers is the daughter of Tami and Travis Beavers. She plans to attend Hastings College and major in Business Administration.

Trevor Allen Beavers is the son of Tami and Travis Beavers. He plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Meteorology.

Riley Jacob Beck is the son of Zerlina Miller and Michael Beck and the step-son of Dwight Miller. He plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Geographic Information Systems.

Keegan John Brigham is the son of Rob and Kim Brigham. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Business Administration.

Cort West Carleton is the son of Leah and Scott Carleton. He plans to attend the University of Wyoming and major in Zoology/Animal Conservation.

*Michael Lawrence Carranza is the son of Amanda and Christopher Benkusky. He plans to attend the University of Michigan and major in Biochemistry.

Allison Marie DuBois is the daughter of Sue and Dave DuBois. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Culinary Arts.

Joshua James Edmonds is the son of Teresa and Jason Edmonds. He was an early graduate. He is attending Metropolitan Community College and majoring in Collision Repair.

Samuel Robert Edmonds is the son of Teresa and Jason Edmonds. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Aviation.

Kyler Sean Elliott is the son of Megan and Sean Elliott. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Kinesiology.

Nathan Karl Eriksen is the son of Amy Eriksen Nelson and Michael O’Flaherty and is the stepson of Lane Nelson and Deanne O’Flaherty. He plans to attend Santa Clara University and major in  Mechanical Engineering.

Reagan May Etherington is the daughter of Amanda Prohaska and Sheldon Etherington. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Brynna Rose Fairbanks is the daughter of Tracee and Jeremy Fairbanks. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Business.

Lukus Robert Forbes is the son of Shannon Horner and Scott Forbes. He plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and major in Political Science.

Isaiah Michael Foster is the son of Angela and Darold Foster. He plans to attend St. Cloud State (MN) and major in Engineering.

*Marcus Ryan Glock is the son of Patricia and Jason Glock. He plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University and major in Biology.

Brailey Jene Gronenthal is the daughter of Buffy Baker and Bradley Gronenthal. She plans to attend Wayne State College and major in Elementary Education.

*Gabriel Lyle Harris is the son of Angela and Matt Harris. He plans to attend the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and major in Physical Therapy.

Lillian Ruth Harris is the daughter of Sarah and Andrew Harris. She plans to attend Morningside University and major in Biology.

Julian Hashan is a foreign exchange student staying with host parents Crystal and Brent Dwerlkotte. He plans to return to his home country of Israel and serve in the military, after which he plans to return to the United States to continue his education.

*Eli Mason Hauswald is the son of Shannon and Tyler Hauswald. He plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in Business and Pre-Law.

Riley James Herndon is the son of Sarah and Chris Herndon. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Broadcasting.

*Hannah Elizabeth Herrera is the daughter of Vicki and Jon Herrera. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Fine Arts.

*Lanta Rhea Hitz is the daughter of ReAnna and BJ Hitz. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Kinesiology.

Jude Marshal Johnson is the son of Sabrina and Jerry Johnson. He plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Sophia Grace Klein is the daughter of Alison and Robert Klein. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and her major is undeclared.

Derrek Carter Kreitzer, Jr. is the son of Andrea and Derrek Kreitzer, Sr. He plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Computer Information Technology/Cybersecurity.

Jillian Faith Krivanek is the daughter of Amanda Groff and Joshua Krivanek. She plans to attend Wayne State College and major in Studio Arts.

*Ava Kinley Lausterer is the daughter of Julie and Jovan Lausterer. She plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in Psychology and Pre-Law.

Emma Jennifer Lowther is the daughter of Kimberly and Joel Lowther. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Kearney and major in Psychology.

Barrett Ryan Nelson is the son of Stacia and Seth Nelson. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Mechanical Engineering.

Jet Jeffrey Nuckolls is the son of Mary and Jesse Nuckolls. He plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Lilly Irene Obert is the daughter of Kristi and Keith Obert. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Elementary Education.

Seth Charles Obert is the son of Rhonda and Eric Obert. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Computer Engineering.

Brisni Yatzary Orrantia is the daughter of Maria Melendez and Octavio Orrantia. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Surgical Technology.

Rozalia Elizabeth Otto is the daughter of Izabela and Gary Otto. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Anna Luisa Perez is the daughter of Francisca Solis and Modesto Perez and sister of Gladis Perez. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Pre-Veterinary Science.

Jonathan Perez is the son of Alejandra Silvestre and Alfredo Perez. He plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in the Ford ASSET program.

Lillyan Rose Richardson is the daughter of Kari and Thomas Richardson. She plans to attend Wayne State College and major in Accounting.

Carter Ricks is the son of Holly Langemeier and Jason Ricks. He plans to enlist in the U.S. military after graduation.

Carlee Jo Robichaud is the daughter of Sonya Ludvik and Joe Robichaud. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Biology.

Mason Jon Rodgers is the son of Samantha and Cody Rodgers. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Civil Engineering.

Anthony Paul Rowe is the son of Jeannine and Michael Rowe. He plans to attend Wayne State College and major in K-12 Music Education.

McKenna Riann Sabatka is the daughter of Jennessa and Ryan Sabatka and the step-daughter of Melissa Sabatka. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications.

Chelsea Victoria Sanchez Rodriguez is the daughter of Lidia Rodriguez and Ruben Sanchez. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

Parker James Schafer is the son of Margurite and Jimmy Gilliland. He was an early graduate who entered the workforce.

Jonas James Schnakenberg is the son of Kim and Jamie Schnakenberg. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Omaha and major in Civil Engineering.

*Addison Jo Scott is the daughter of Jada and Corey Scott. She plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University and major in Sonographic Sciences.

Arlan John Scott is the son of Lisa and Jon Scott. He plans to attend Central Community College and major in Heavy Equipment Operation.

Noah Joseph Simon is the son of Liza and Joe Simon. His college choice and major are undeclared.

*Sidney Kathryn Smart is the daughter of Mikayla and Seth Smart. She plans to attend Augustana University and major in Biology/Chemistry.

Liberty Mae Spaulding is the daughter of Jami Spaulding. She plans to attend Southeast Community College and major in Health Sciences with a focus in Surgical Technology.

*Jesse Daniel Stebbing is the son of Jenny and Andy Stebbing. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Physics.

Payten Joanne Subbert is the daughter of Tiffany and Jeffrey Subbert. She plans to enter the workforce after graduation.

*Makenzie Agnes Sutton is the daughter of Holly and Matthew Sutton. She plans to attend Sioux Falls University and major in Radiologic Technology.

*Miranda Lynn Vanek is the daughter of Michelle and Ryan Vanek. She plans to attend Northeast Community College and major in Auto Body Repair Technology.

Kylie Jill Warford is the daughter of Julie and Carl Warford. She plans to attend Wayne State College and major in Elementary Education.
