Tomjack cards team low score at season-ending district tourney
District C-1 Golf Tournament (October 7-8, 2013 @ Miracle Hills Omaha)
The Warriors finished off their season on Tuesday at the District C-1 Golf Tournament played at Miracle Hills Golf Course in Omaha. The girls battled windy conditions with gusts near 30 mph.
Junior Kristen Tomjack led the way carding a 118. One shot behind was fellow junior Shauna Fiala. Freshman Hannah Polacek had another great day on the links in just her first year of golf shooting a 127. Sophomores Emily Colgan (129) and Alexis Vrana (135) rounded out the team scoring for the Warriors.
“We didn’t finish the season the way we had hoped to with no one qualifying for state; however, the girls made a ton of improvement over the course of the season. In golf some days you have your A game and some days it feels like nothing is working for you. I appreciate all the hard work the girls put in during the season. I also want to thank the teachers for working with the girls to make up assignments that they missed due to meets,” said Coach Curtis Carlson. “I would also like to thank Hilltop Country Club and Wahoo Parks and Recreation for allowing us to use their facilities this year.”
Fiala/Tomjack place at Elmwood-Murdock Invite
Elmwood-Murdock Invitational (Monday, September 30, 2013)
The Warriors capped off a busy 15-day stretch Monday at the Elmwood-Murdock Invitational.
The Warriors had a good day on the links, finishing with a team score of 411 on the par 30 course.
Shauna Fiala once again led the way for the Warriors with a 90. Her score was good for a tie for 5th place, but finished in 6th based on the scorecard playoff. Kristen Tomjack continued her steady play with a 101. Her score was good for 13th place. Hannah Polacek (108) and Emily Colgan (112) rounded out the scores for the Warriors.
“All four girls posted good scores today. That being said, all four could have gone lower very easily. The girls really struggled with chipping and putting today. The girls have played 99 holes of competitive golf over the last couple weeks, which is a lot of golf. Playing on six different courses during that stretch has allowed the girls to see a lot of different greens and forced them to make adjustments for each course. This will really help us come postseason time,” said Coach Curtis Carlson.
The Warriors will be off until districts on Tuesday, October 8. Districts will be played at Miracle Hills Golf Club in Omaha.
Tomjack/Polacek post season-low 9's at Brownell Quad
Omaha Brownell-Talbot Quadrangular (Friday, October 27, 2013)
The Warriors returned to action on Friday at the O-B-T quadrangular played at Miracle Hills Golf Course in Omaha.
The Warriors had a good day on the links finishing with a team score of 459.

“Today was a great chance to see the course that we will play for districts in a competitive event. I was really pleased with how the girls played. Kristen’s 53 and Hannah’s 57 were both season low 9’s for the girls. The girls will really benefit from playing the course to get a better idea of the layout for districts,” said Coach Curtis Carlson.
The Warriors will return to action on Monday at the Elmwood-Murdock Invitational before getting some time off before districts.
Fremont JV Dual (Thursday, October 26, 2013)
The Wahoo girls golf team returned to action on Thursday in a dual against Fremont JV at Hilltop Country Club.
The Warriors were just edged out by the Tigers by three shots in the team matchup. Both teams battled windy conditions that made a tough course that much more difficult. Even though the conditions were challenging, Hilltop Country Club was in immaculate shape.

Arlington Invitational (Tuesday, September 24,2013)
The Warriors returned to action Tuesday at the Arlington Invitational, played at Fremont Golf Club.
The girls took on the challenging course in temperatures in the upper 60’s with winds blowing out of the north at 15-20 mph. The Warriors had a great day placing three girls in the top 15 individually, while finishing in 3rd place in the team competition.

The girls will be back in action on Thursday in a dual with Fremont JV, played at Hilltop Country Club.
Crete Invitational (Friday, September 2, 2013)
The Wahoo Warriors girls golf team hit the half way point of their busy two-week stretch on Friday at the Crete Invitation. The girls had beautiful weather conditions to play in with temperatures in the low 70’s.

Kristen Tomjack carded a 125 and Alexis Vrana added a 133.
“College Heights really challenges the girls around the greens. The greens tend to be quick and around the edges putts will roll off,” said Coach Curtis Carlson. “That being said the girls were able to make adjustments after their front nines and were able to reduce their putts on the back.”
The Warriors will be back in action on Tuesday at the Arlington Invitational.
Blair Invitational (Monday, September 16, 2013)

Junior Kristen Tomjack had the 4th best score on the day finishing with a 54. Freshman Lucy Welsh also competed for the Warriors finishing with a 76.

The Warriors will return to action Thursday at the Plattsmouth Invitational.

Junior Kristen Tomjack (136) and freshman Hannah Polacek (142) also competed for the Warriors.
