Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran suffered a heart-breaking end to its season on Monday when Skutt Catholic posted four runs in the 8th inning . . . the only runs scored in the entire game . . . to defeat the Warriors in Game 6 of the State Championships.
Cade Christensen was on the hill for the Skyhawks. He surrendered zero runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out ten. Eli Johnston was on the mound for the Warriors, going seven and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out seven. Kaden Christen threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.
The Warriors tallied six hits in the game. Trenton Barry led Wahoo/BN/LL with two hits in four at bats.
Skutt totaled seven hits. Maccoy Holtam (the Skyhawk leader going three-for-four at the plate) and Brady Stodola each racked up multiple hits. The Skyhawks didn't commit a single error in the field. Stodola had the most chances in the field with ten.
Wahoo/BN/LL closes the 2023 season with a successful 20-5 season.

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-0 loss to Elkhorn on Saturday. Elkhorn scored on an error in the first inning.
Andrew Salvatore got the start for Elkhorn, allowing three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Ryan Bokelmann led things off on the mound for the Warriors, going four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six. Kaden Christen threw three innings in relief.
Aiden Lofgren, Nolan Van Slyke, and Conor Booth each collected one hit to lead Wahoo/BN/LL.
The Antlers tallied five hits. Gil Schroeder and Connor Hunt each collected multiple hits, with Schroeder going 3-for-4 at the plate. Elkhorn was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Paxton Stracke made the most plays with five.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Wahoo/BN/LL pitchers struck out eight, while Waverly pitchers sat down ten.
The Warriors got things started in the first inning when Booth hit a solo homer, they only home run on the day.
Eli Johnston was credited with the victory for Wahoo/BN/LL. He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Bruin Sampson led things off on the hill for Waverly surrendering three runs on four hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out nine. Nash Peterson threw one-third of an inning out of the bullpen.

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran defeated Platteview 7-6 on Sunday thanks to a walk-off. The game was tied at six with the Warriors batting in the bottom of the eleventh when Conor Booth was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Wahoo/BN/LL earned the victory despite allowing Platteview to score four runs in the first inning. The Trojans' big inning was driven by a triple by Nathan Thomas and a single by Alex Jones. Platteview got things moving in the first inning. Jones drove in two when he singled.
The Warriors evened things up at six in the bottom of the sixth inning when Owen Hancock singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. They tallied five runs in the sixth inning, driven by the single by Hancock, an error on a ball put in play by Alex Ohnoutka, and a double by Aiden Lofgren.
Trenton Barry led the Wahoo/BN/LL to victory on the mound. He pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine. Eli Johnston threw six innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Austin Krenzer was on the pitcher's mound for Platteview, lasting two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four. Ethan Loffer, Tucker Riha, and Keegan Stobbe each contributed in relief for Platteview.

Wahoo/BN/LL was boosted by Trenton Barry who went 5-for-5 at the plate. Barry singled in the first, doubled in the third, homered in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and tripled in the sixth.
Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy opened up scoring in the first inning when Nolan Swett singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
In the top of the third inning, the Warriors tied things up at four when Aiden Lofgren doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The Mustangs scored five runs in the fourth inning, led by Ryan Stice, Chase Bouges, Camden Helton, and Nate Brown, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Kaden Christen was the winning pitcher for Wahoo/BN/LL, lasting four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out five and walking one. Barry threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Swett was on the pitcher's mound for the Concordia/Brownell/OCA. Johnston was the winning pitcher for the Warriors, surrendering one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Timmy Hunt was on the mound for the Patriots, going five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five. Emerick Hegwood threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Nolan Van Slyke, Aiden Lofgren, Wulf, and Alex Ohnoutka all had one hit to lead Wahoo/BN/LL. Braxton Wentworth went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Platte Valley in hits.

Thursday's game against Central City/Fullerton/Centura was a heartbreaker for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran, as they lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with the Kernals batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored what turned out to be the game-winning run.
The Warriors lost the game despite out-hitting Central City/Fullerton/Centura 8-4.
Wahoo/BN/LL got things moving in the first inning when Trenton Barry doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Central City/Fullerton/Centura tied things up at four when Bosten Caspersen was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Ashton Gragg was on the pitcher's mound for the Kernals, lasting three innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out three. Barrett Nelson led things off on the mound for the Warriors. He went four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out five. Eli Johnston threw two innings out of the bullpen.
Wahoo/BN/LL smacked one home run on the day when Barry put one out in the third inning. They collected eight hits, lead by Conor Booth and Barry with two hits each. Caspersen led Central City/Fullerton/Centura with two hits in two at bats.

Trenton Barry came to the ballpark and meant business on Thursday, driving in five on two hits to lead Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran past Fort Calhoun 22-3 on Thursday. Barry drove in runs on a home run and a grand slam in the fourth.
Fort Calhoun scored three runs in the first inning, with RBI's by Sam Halford, Austin Welchert, and Sam Genoways.
The Warriors' onslaught was initiated by eight runs in the second inning: an Eli Johnston solo homer, Conor Booth tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Alex Ohnoutka singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Aiden Lofgren singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Owen Hancock tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Kael Eddie singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Nolan Van Slyke doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Trenton Barry gave Roncalli Catholic fits, as he bagged four hits in Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran's 13-3 victory on Tuesday. Barry doubled in the first, homered in the second, doubled in the third, and homered in the fifth.
The Warriors took an early lead in the first inning and cemented that lead for good with three runs in the second inning, when Alex Ohnoutka singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Barry, homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Wahoo/BN/LL notched four runs in the third inning, led by a walk by Ohnoutka and a double by Barry.
Aiden Lofgren pitched the Warriors to victory, allowing eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Charlie Fehringer took the loss for Roncalli Catholic. He lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out two and walking zero.

A walk-off groundout propelled Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran to a dramatic bottom-of-the-seventh victory over Mount Michael Benedictine, 8-7. The Warriors were down 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh when Nolan Van Slyke grounded out, scoring two runs.
Wahoo/BN/LL earned the victory despite allowing Mount Michael to score five runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by the Knights was led by Rocco Zimmerman, Ashton Schroder, and Elliott Simpson, all driving in runs in the frame.

Barrett Nelson had all the right stuff on Saturday for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann/Lincoln Lutheran, allowing zero runs and besting Wayne by a score of 17-0.
Aiden Lofgren led the Warriors to victory by driving in four runs. Lofgren went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in runs on a groundout in the first and a home run in the third.
Wahoo/BN/LL scored ten runs in the fourth inning, lead by singles by Kael Eddie and Nolan Van Slyke, by Owen Hancock and Conor Booth, an error on a ball put in play by Jesse Stebbing and Cody Hesser, a sac fly by Alex Ohnoutka, and a double by Trenton Barry.
One bright spot for Wayne was a single by Gavin Redden in the third inning.
Nelson got the win for the Warriors, surrendering zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

Wahoo/BN/LL scored six runs in the fourth inning, thanks to walks by Barry and Owen Hancock, groundouts by Jonas Schnakenberg and Mason Dawes, and a double by Lofgren.
Kael Eddie pitched the Warriors to victory. The fireballer allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five. Schnakenberg threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Warriors opened up scoring in the first inning with one driven in by Trenton Barry, and they pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning, when Grant Ryan singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. They also notched four runs in the sixth inning, with big RBIs by Barry and Owen Hancock.
Barrett Nelson was the winning pitcher for Wahoo/BN/LL, allowing four hits and one run over five innings, and striking out five. Eli Johnston threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Clayton Mayfield started the game for Plattsmouth, and allowed eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Gage Olsen and Seth Thompson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
