2019 FINAL SEASON RECORD: 14-17

SEASON WRAP-UP FROM HEAD COACH TRINA CHRISTEN:

The Wahoo Warrior softball team ended the season with a record of 14-17.

In regular season conference play, they finished 5-2 against some tough conference opponents. They also finished the season with a 3rd place finish at the conference tournament.

Juniors Aja Henderson and Alyssa Luedtke led the offense. Henderson had a batting average of .416 and Luedtke had an average of .382. Freshman Autumn Iversen was not far behind with an average of .345 and 7 homeruns. Sophomore Kylee Kenning hit in the four hole for the Warriors and ended with an average of .341. Junior Kharissa Eddie also had a hot bat at the end of the season and ended with 4 homeruns.

On the mound senior Morgan Oden led the Warriors. She pitched 128 innings over the course of the season. She struck out 88 opponents while only allowing 25 walks. Senior Paige Peterson worked hard on the dirt at second base to make sure balls stayed in the infield. She made some outstanding diving plays that prevented the other team from scoring runs.

The softball team will greatly miss their two senior leaders, Morgan Oden and Paige Peterson. They both dedicated four great years to Wahoo Softball.

The Warriors' effort to come back from being down five runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 7-5 to Tekamah-Herman on Saturday.

Wahoo scored five runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Kharissa Eddie in the second, a passed ball during Autumn Iversen's at bat in the third, a home run by Aja Henderson in the fifth, a single by Morgan Oden in the fifth, and a double by Henderson in the sixth.

Wahoo fell behind early in the loss. Tekamah-Herman scored on a 3-run home run and two runs on singles in the second inning.

Oden took the loss. She allowed nine hits and six runs over four and a third innings, striking out one.

Wahoo collected eight hits. Henderson and Eddie each had multiple hits. Henderson led the team with four hits in four at bats.

The Warriors won the contest against Yutan/Mead, 8-3, to stay alive in the double-elimination district tournament.

Wahoo fired up the offense in the first inning. Autumn Iversen drove in two when she homered.

Morgan Oden was on the rubber for Wahoo. She allowed 11 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four.

The Warriors socked two home runs on the day. Iversen had a four bagger in the first inning. Kharissa Eddie had a homer in the fifth inning.

Wahoo tallied 13 hits on the day. Kylee Kenning, Alyssa Luedtke, Aja Henderson, Harper Hancock, and Eddie all managed multiple hits. Luedtke and Kenning each collected three hits to lead the team.

The Warriors lost 9-1 to Arlington in the second round of the C-1 district tournament.

Arlington scored five runs in the fourth inning. Arlington's big inning was driven by two home runs.

Morgan Oden led things off in the pitcher's circle for the Warriors. She surrendered seven runs on ten hits over three and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. Autumn Iversen threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Alyssa Luedtke, Oden, and Tessa Gatewood each collected one hit to lead the team.

The Warriors sailed to an easy victory over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 14-2 on Wednesday in the first round of the C-1 district tournament.

Wahoo notched seven runs in the sixth inning. Their offense in the inning came from home runs by Autumn Iversen and Kharissa Eddie, an error on a ball put in play by Paige Peterson, and a double by Aja Henderson.

Morgan Oden led things off on the rubber for Wahoo. She went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out six and walking zero.

The Warriors smacked three home runs on the day. Oden hit a home run in the fifth inning. Iversen and Eddie both homered in the sixth inning.

Wahoo collected 14 hits. Oden, Harper Hancock, Kylee Kenning, Henderson, and Iversen all managed multiple hits. Hancock and Oden each collected three hits to lead the team.

The Warriors fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-3 loss to Gross Catholic on Thursday. Gross Catholic took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

The Warriors struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Gross Catholic, giving up 11 runs. Gross Catholic smacked two home runs on the day. Gross Catholic scored four runs in the seventh inning.

Morgan Oden took the loss for Wahoo. She lasted three innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Wahoo saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Kylee Kenning and Autumn Iversen each collected two hits to lead the team. Wahoo was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Iversen made the most plays with five.

A five-run second inning led Wahoo Warriors Varsity to a 9-1 victory on Saturday. Kharissa Eddie and Alyssa Luedtke each drove in runs during the inning.

Morgan Oden was credited with the victory. She surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

The Warriors smacked one home run on the day. Autumn Iversen went yard in the sixth inning.

Wahoo had 12 hits in the game. Tessa Gatewood, Aja Henderson, Iversen, and Luedtke each had multiple hits. Gatewood went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field. Katelyn Urban had the most chances in the field with six.

Ashland-Greenwood scored six runs in the second inning.

Morgan Oden took the loss for Wahoo. She went one and one-third innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and walking zero.

The Warriors socked one home run on the day, with a Gatewood dinger in the fourth inning.

Wahoo weathered a scare by Raymond Central in the fifth inning with the Mustangs scoring five runs, but the Warriors still won 10-7 on Saturday. Bats blistered as the Warriors collected 12 hits and Raymond Central tallied eight in the high-scoring game.

Wahoo notched seven runs in the fourth inning. Warrior batters contributing to the big inning included Autumn Iversen, Harper Hancock, Paige Peterson, Alyssa Luedtke, and Aja Henderson, all driving in runs in the frame.

Warrior pitcher, Jaiden Swanson, earned the win. She went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Morgan Oden threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Wahoo tallied 12 hits on the day. Tessa Gatewood, Henderson, and Luedtke each managed two hits to lead the team.

Wahoo watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-0 loss to York on Tuesday. York took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Warriors struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing York, giving up eight runs.

York fired up the offense in the first inning with a single, driving in two runs.

One bright spot for Wahoo Warriors Varsity was a single by Aja Henderson in the first inning.

Morgan Oden took the loss for the Warriors. She surrendered seven runs on nine hits over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Alyssa Luedtke led Wahoo with two hits in three at bats.

Wahoo fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-3 loss to Grand Island Central Catholic on Tuesday.

The Warriors lost despite out-hitting Grand Island Central Catholic eight to six.

In the bottom of the first inning, GICC tied things up at one with a ground out, scoring one run.

After Wahoo scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Crusaders answered with one of their own. Wahoo scored when Paige Peterson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. GICC then answered with a double on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Crusaders pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.

Wahoo pitcher,  Autumn Iversen, took the loss. She lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and three runs while walking zero.

The Warriors collected eight hits on the day. Aja Henderson, Kylee Kenning, and Kharissa Eddie each collected two hits to lead the team.

Even though the Warriors gave up three runs in the sixth inning, they still defeated Platteview 7-4 on Saturday.

In the first inning, the Warriors got their offense started, with Kylee Kenning driving in one when she singled.

Wahoo scored three runs in the second inning. Aja Henderson and Kenning each moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Morgan Oden earned the win. She allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out seven.

Platteview’s pitcher lasted six innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out two.

The Warriors scattered ten hits in the game. Eddie and Kenning each had two hits to lead the team. The Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field. Katelyn Urban had the most chances in the field with eight.

Thursday's game against Duchesne/Roncalli was a heartbreaker for Wahoo. They lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Duchesne/Roncalli batting in the bottom of the fifth when they singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Duchesne/Roncalli pitchers struck out three, while Wahoo sat down four.

The Warriors got things moving in the first inning. Autumn Iversen drove in one when she singled.

The Crimson Pride allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Morgan Oden took the loss for the Warriors. She lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out four and walking one.

Alyssa Luedtke, Paige Peterson, Iversen, Aja Henderson, Oden, and Tessa Gatewood each managed one hit to lead the team.

The Warriors snagged a late lead and defeated Douglas County West/Concordia 4-2 on Tuesday.

Morgan Oden took the win for the Warriors. She surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.

The Falcons surrendered four runs on five hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.

Alyssa Luedtke, Aja Henderson, Kylee Kenning, Paige Peterson, and Autumn Iversen each collected one hit to lead Wahoo.

Wahoo fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-1 loss to Crete on Saturday. Crete took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

Autumn Iversen took the loss for Wahoo. She lasted six innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one.

The Warriors hit one home run on the day. Aja Henderson put one out in the fifth inning.

Iversen, Henderson, and Kylee Kenning all had one hit to lead the Warriors.

Waverly posts runs in every inning in win over Wahoo

The Warriors struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Waverly, giving up nine runs.

Morgan Oden took the loss for the Warriors. She surrendered eight runs on nine hits over three and two-thirds innings, walking one.

The Warriors tallied six hits in the game. Aja Henderson and Alyssa Luedtke each collected two hits to lead the team.

Wahoo jumped out to an early lead over Yutan-Mead and took home a 13-2 victory on Thursday.

The Warriors secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the first inning. The rally was led by singles by Katelyn Urban and Morgan Oden, an error on a ball put in play by Kylee Kenning and Paige Peterson, a home run by Alyssa Luedtke, by Tessa Gatewood, by Oden, and a double by Gatewood.

Oden was the winning pitcher. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out three and walking one.

Luedtke, Aja Henderson, Urban, Oden, Gatewood, and Autumn Iversen each managed one hit to lead the Warriors. Wahoo didn't commit a single error in the field. Peterson had four chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Warriors got things moving in the second inning, when Katelyn Urban drove in one when she singled.

Beatrice pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, the Lady Orange singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run followed by a home run, scoring three runs.

Morgan Oden took the loss for the Warriors. She surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, walking one.

Wahoo hit one home run on the day. Kharissa Eddie went yard in the fourth inning.

Eddie went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Warriors in hits.

Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Wahoo fell to Kearney 12-8 on Saturday.

Kearney took an early lead in the first inning when an error scored two runs for Kearney.

Morgan Oden took the loss for the Warriors. She went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs on ten hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Wahoo collected 14 hits on the day. Oden, Rebecca Wotipka, Kylee Kenning, Aja Henderson, Paige Peterson, and Alyssa Luedtke all had multiple hits. Luedtke, Peterson, Henderson, Kenning, Wotipka, and Oden all had two hits to lead the team.

Morgan Oden had all the right stuff on Saturday for Wahoo, allowing zero runs and besting Columbus by a score of 10-0.

The Warriors secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Paige Peterson, Aja Henderson, Tessa Gatewood, and Kylee Kenning, and a double by Kharissa Eddie.

The Warriors put up seven runs in the fourth inning. Wahoo’s offense in the inning was led by Peterson, Henderson, Gatewood, Kenning, and Eddie, all knocking in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for Columbus was a single in the second inning.

Oden led the Warriors to victory in the circle. She surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Wahoo Warriors Varsity totaled 13 hits. Henderson, Peterson, Eddie, and Alyssa Luedtke each racked up multiple hits. Luedtke, Eddie, Peterson, and Henderson all had two hits to lead the team.

Wahoo fought back after falling down by four runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 13-12 defeat to Milford on Thursday. The Warriors scored 11 runs in the failed comeback on a grand slam by Autumn Iversen in the fifth, an error in the seventh, an error in the eighth, and a double by Aja Henderson in the eighth.

One Warrior run in the 7th took the game to extra innings. Things looked promising as Wahoo posted six runs in the top of 8, but unfortunately Milford one-upped them with 7 runs in the bottom of 8, closing the game with a 13-12 Milford victory.

Iversen took the loss for the Warriors. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out four. Morgan Oden started the game for Wahoo, going three innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out three and walking zero.

Wahoo launched one home run on the day with Iversen's grand slam dinger in the fifth inning. The Warriors racked up nine hits on the day. Kylee Kenning, Henderson, and Alyssa Luedtke each collected two hits to lead Wahoo.

Milford collected 12 hits on the day: #7 (the Eagles' leader with four hits in five at bats), #2, and #12 each collected multiple hits for Milford.

Wahoo ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-8 victory over Cass County Central on Monday. The game was tied at seven with the Warriors batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run.
Cass County Central scored five runs in the fifth inning, but the Warriors still managed to pull out the victory.

Wahoo opened up scoring in the first inning. Tessa Gatewood drove in one when she singled. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Cass County Central tied things up at seven.

The Warriors tallied six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Paige Peterson, Alyssa Luedtke, Autumn Iversen, and Morgan Oden, all driving in runs in the frame.

Wahoo claimed a 13-4 victory on Monday, despite a big push by the Fort Calhoun Pioneers in the fifth inning.

In the first inning, Wahoo got their offense started. An error scored one run for the Warriors.

Autumn Iversen was the winning pitcher. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out three and walking one. Jaiden Swanson threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Alyssa Luedtke, Kharissa Eddie, Jazlyn Nelson, Iversen, Harper Hancock, Maci Foxworthy, Tabitha Cooney, Aja Henderson, Rebecca Wotipka, Morgan Oden, and Tessa Gatewood each collected one hit to lead the Warriors. Eddie led the team with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.

Raymond Central scored three runs in the fourth inning, but the Warriors still managed to pull out the victory.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Mustangs tied things up at three.
