I thought our girls did a tremendous job of competing on a less than optimal day. We had a lot of individuals step up and achieve personal bests and were able to finish runner up without loading events.
We tried to use this meet as our preparation for Districts and I thought we really did a great job of pushing one another to succeed.
Emily Brodahl and Amy O’Sullivan turned in season best performances in the triple jump and shot put, winning their first individual events of their careers. The 3200m relay, consisting of Erin Curran, Erin Walker, Morgan Hancock, and Mattie Murren, improved upon their time, recording a season best 10:08, setting themselves up for a “run” to state at Districts.
Mattie Murren showed incredible heart in a come-from-behind victory in the 400m dash, winning the race with a final push and lean at the tape.
Hailey Sloup continued her dominance of the 300m hurdles, and pushed herself into the top three spots going into Districts.
Erin Curran ran a very strong 1600m race in the driving rain to continue her winning streak in the distances, establishing herself as the top runner in the 1600m and 3200m in the B1 Districts.
