Comments from Coach Shannon:
I was extremely pleased by how hard our girls competed at the Doane Invitational this year. With the caliber of teams equal to that of a district meet, I felt that our girls pushed themselves in their first meet of the year and rose to the level of our competition.
We had numerous personal records throughout the day and the girls did a tremendous job of supporting one another during the meet. I am very excited to see what we can do once we get outside.
Morgan Hancock set the tone for the meet early for the Warriors by establishing herself as one of the best long jumpers in the area with a mark of 16’ 5 ¾”, setting a personal best.
Emily Brodahl, once again, proved herself against the best in the area by finishing 3rd in the 55m dash against a state tested field with a personal best of 7.76.
Mattie Murren and Erin Walker, two members of the returning Class B State Champion 3200m relay team, both showed that they are ready to defend their title with Mattie finishing 3rd with a time of 2:31 and Erin finishing 6th in a time of 2:37.
In the 1600m run, Erin Curran did not compete, due to a quad injury, but the Class B coaches were introduced to Michaela Curran, a freshman at Wahoo, who finished 4th in with a time of 5:41.
