The Wahoo Girls track team traveled to Seward on May 12 for the B3 District track meet. Although the B3 District was projected as the strongest in Class B, the Warriors rose to the occasion, finishing 4th in the team standings with 65 points, sending 10 athletes to the Nebraska State Track meet in Omaha Burke. The Warriors used the warm weather to improve on their times heading into Districts, and in the process, were able to capture the championship with a score of 124 points. The Wahoo Warrior Boys Track Team edged out another victory on Friday, by beating Bennington by half of a point to win the Arlington Invite. It took another tremendous team effort to find a way to win this last invite of the regular season. There were 12 Personal Records or Season Bests, as well as 3 “Meet Records” set by the Warriors. Throughout the day, the emphasis was on “quality, not quantity,” as the Warriors focused on fewer events, in getting ready for the Central Conference meet on Saturday, but the Warriors were still able to come out victorious, scoring 130 pts, to capture the team title.
