The theme for the JVFB game versus Yutan was overcoming adversity. Yutan scored quickly on a 5-yard run and converted the two-point conversion, putting the Chieftains up 8-0 18 seconds into the game. The Warriors responded with an eight-minute drive capped off by a 15-yard scramble by Brook Stuart, who dove at the pylon giving the Warriors their first score of the game. But, costly penalties and a turnover gave the ball back to the Chieftains. Yutan was able to mount a drive right before halftime, tying the game 14-14, after the PAT was missed. After making adjustments at halftime, the Warriors quickly jumped on the Chieftains defensively, forcing a three and out.
