The Wahoo Warriors season came to a close as they were defeated by the D.C. West Falcons 60-55 on Tuesday night in Sub-District action at Omaha Westside.
Wahoo got off to a good start, as they jumped out to a 12-2 lead behind two treys from Greg Milliken. Milliken’s third trey of the quarter gave the Warriors a 20-9 lead after one quarter of play.
D.C. West cut into Wahoo’s lead in the second quarter. A Morgan Bailey basket cut the lead to 24-20 with 3 minutes left in the half, but a free throw from Milliken, a Jake Barry jumper, another Milliken trey, and another Jake Barry jump shot gave Wahoo a 34-22 lead at halftime.
A Max Cook trey to open the third quarter put Wahoo up 15 at 37-22. The Warriors missed out on opportunities the next three possessions to extend the lead. A basket from Josh Egbarts, and a trey from John Kaiser cut the lead to 37-27. The Warriors still led 41-30 after a Milliken lay up, but the Falcons scored the last 8 points of the quarter to cut the lead to 41-38 after three quarters.
The fourth quarter was all D.C. West. Blake Lind hit three consecutive treys to give the Falcons their first lead at 47-45. Sean Lindgren’s layup off of a Max Cook assist tied the score at 47. A Blake Thielen basket, followed by a steal from J.D. Widhelm and dunk gave D.C. the lead at 51-47 with 2:30 left. The Falcons were able to break the Warriors’ full court pressure for lay ups and free throws to seal the win.
“This is a bitter loss for us. We had been playing very good basketball in February, and really felt like we were playing at a level that gave us a chance to get to Lincoln. We played a very good first half, but the second half, D.C. turned up the pressure defensively, and they really got hot. Three of their treys were from 24 or 25 feet away. Give them credit for making more plays than we did. Once they got the momentum, we just could not get it back,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Milliken led the Warriors with 24 points on 4-7 shooting from behind the arc. Max Cook had 9 points, Jake Barry and Josh Discher both added 8 points. Jake Barry led Wahoo with 8 boards, and Cole Barry had 5 assists.
Wahoo finishes the year with a 13-8 record. D.C. West improved to 13-8 and will face Bishop Neumann in the Sub-District Finals.

A tremendous first quarter (33-5) lifted the Wahoo Warriors to an 81-60 victory over the Schuyler Warriors on Parents Night, in the regular season finale for both teams.
Wahoo jumped out to an 8-4 lead behind baskets from Greg Milliken, Max Cook, and a trey from Cole Barry. Wahoo would then go on a 17-0 run to take a 25-4 lead. Following a Schuyler free throw, Wahoo scored the next 8 points to take a 33-5 lead after one quarter. Cole Barry had 11 first quarter points, Max Cook had 7 points in the quarter, Sean Lindgren had 6 in the quarter, and Milliken had 5.
Wahoo would cruise to the victory the remainder of the way, without being seriously threatened. Wahoo led 46-22 at the halftime break, and led 68-40 after three quarters.
“In twenty years of coaching, I don’t remember ever having a better first quarter than we did last night. Schuyler is a Class B team that had a 10-9 record, so this was a good team. We played about as well as we could have in the first quarter, and decided the outcome of the game in the first 8 minutes,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “Everyone who played tonight for us did a great job. Cole Barry had just a great game. He has really come on for us offensively in the last month. Greg Milliken also played very well for us last night.”
Cole Barry led Wahoo with 24 points. Milliken had 20, and Max Cook and Jake Barry both added 10 points.
Wahoo outrebounded Schuyler 40-26. Jake Barry led the Warriors with 8 boards, while Milliken, Josh Discher, and Cole Barry each added 7 rebounds. Max Cook led Wahoo defensively with 5 steals. Discher and Cole Barry had 4 assists apiece.
Wahoo improves to 13-7, while Schuyler drops to 10-10. Wahoo will face D.C. West on Tuesday night in the first round of the Sub-District tournament at Omaha Westside at 7:15 p.m.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the North Bend Tigers 68-44 on Tuesday night.
Wahoo jumped out to a 9-0 lead behind two baskets from Jake Barry, a Cole Barry basket and a trey from Greg Milliken. The Tigers knocked down a couple of treys and scored on their last four possessions of the quarter to cut the lead to 15-13 after one quarter.
The Warriors broke the game open with a 17-0 run to start the second quarter to extend the lead to 32-13. Five different Warriors scored in the run, which was fueled by full court pressure. Wahoo forced the Tigers to turn the ball over on 6 straight possessions in the quarter, and 10 times overall in the second quarter. Wahoo led at halftime 39-18.
In the third quarter, North Bend cut into the lead, but the lead never got below 15. At the end of the third quarter, Wahoo led 53-36. The Warriors extended the lead throughout the fourth quarter and went on to the 68-44 win.
“I thought that we played a good first half. In the second quarter, our pressure really bothered them, and we were able to open up the game. I was a little disappointed in the second half. We were not real sharp, and did not play with great intensity on the defensive end,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Milliken led Wahoo with 17 points. Jake Barry scored 14 and Cole Barry added a career high 14 points. Cole Barry and Milliken led Wahoo with 6 rebounds apiece. Max Cook had career highs of 7 steals and 8 assists. Cole Barry also had 7 assists. Sam Cook added 5 assists. Milliken added 5 steals.
Wahoo forced 23 North Bend turnovers while committing just 11 turnovers.
Wahoo improves to 12-7, while North Bend drops to 3-15. Wahoo will host Schuyler on Friday (Parents Night) on the final regular season game.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays 73-36 on Saturday night in Capitol Conference action.
Wahoo jumped out to 13-7 lead after one quarter behind 9 first quarter points from Greg Milliken.
The Warriors then scored the first 11 points of the second quarter to bust the game open and take a 24-7 lead. Wahoo led 32-16 at halftime.
Wahoo scored the first 10 points of the third quarter to extend the lead to 42-16. Wahoo would lead 55-26 after three quarters, before going on to the 73-36 win.
“I thought that we played extremely well tonight. We were very solid on both ends of the floor. After having a very tough time with Ashland in the Conference tournament, I thought going into the game that it would be a battle. It was nice tonight to be able to put a team away when we had them down, and that is not something we have been able to do very often this year,” Head Coach Kevin Scheef commented.
Milliken led Wahoo with 20 points and 4 steals. Josh Discher had 16 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists. Max Cook had 10 points, 7 steals, 6 assists and just one turnover from his point guard position. Jake Barry had 8 points and 5 steals, and Cole Barry contributed 7 assists.
The Warriors forced 28 Bluejay turnovers while committing just 12.
Wahoo improves to 11-7, and will next face North Bend at home on Tuesday night. Ashland-Greenwood drops to 6-12.
Warriors Come Up Short in 53-64 Loss to #3-Rated GICC

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the 3rd-rated Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders 64-53 on Saturday night in Grand Island.
GICC jumped out to a 9-2 lead following a trey from Casey Wiens. The Warriors battled back and a basket from Greg Milliken cut the GICC lead to 15-11 after one quarter. Jake Barry scored 8 of his team high 21 points in the first quarter.
The Warriors stayed close throughout the second quarter, and a Sean Lindgren bucket cut the Crusader lead to 29-23 at halftime.
The Warriors were still down 7, when Turner Fahey scored for the Crusaders on a put-back to end the quarter, with GICC up 43-34.
The fourth quarter saw GICC maintain and slowly expand its lead. Wahoo was not able to cut into the Crusader lead and did not get closer than 9 points in the fourth quarter.
Jake Barry led Wahoo with 21 points and 9 boards. Max Cook, Milliken, and Cole Barry each added 8 points. Josh Discher and Max Cook each added 6 boards. Jake Barry also led Wahoo with 5 steals. The Warriors outrebounded the Crusaders 33-16, but had 18 turnovers compared with 8 for GICC. GICC also made 6 treys to 2 for Wahoo, and made 7 more free throws than the Warriors.
“I thought our kids really battled for 32 minutes. GICC has a terrific team that plays tremendous defense. They made everything tough for us offensively. There is a reason why they are the #3 team in the State. Jake Barry played a great game for us, with his 21 points, 9 boards, and 5 steals. Jake always plays so hard. The effort he gives is what makes him so successful,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
The Warriors fall to 10-7 and will host Ashland-Greenwood next Saturday. GICC improves to 17-1.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Arlington Eagles Friday night in Capitol Conference action at Arlington.
The Warriors led 13-5 after one quarter, as Derek Fiala hit a trey to end the quarter.
Wahoo extended the lead to 36-22 by halftime. Derek Fiala connected on two more perimeter shots and Greg Milliken had a huge second quarter for the Warriors. Milliken had 14 of his game-high 24 points in the second quarter. Milliken hit his last nine shots of the game from the field, including three treys, on a red-hot shooting night.
Wahoo scored the first 9 points of the third quarter. Jake Barry hit a shot, followed by another trey from Milliken. Josh Discher then hit a driving shot, and Max Cook hit two free throws, as the Warriors extended the lead to 45-22. The quarter ended with Wahoo up 57-28.
Wahoo’s reserves played an excellent fourth quarter. Wahoo had all 11 players score that suited up. Christian Hohl hit two treys in the fourth quarter, as did Casey Brown, as Wahoo kept increasing the lead throughout the fourth with their reserves to claim the 81-38 win.
In addition to Milliken’s 24 points, Sean Lindgren contributed 10 points. Cole Barry led Wahoo with 5 steals, and Jake Barry had 4 assists. The Warriors were 10-17 from the 3-point line, and forced 26 Eagle turnovers while committing just 8 themselves.
“We were real solid tonight. We got the lead early, and just kept extending it throughout the game. It was great to see Greg shoot the ball so well tonight, and Derek Fiala really gave us a spark in the first half with his 8 points off the bench. Every single player who came in tonight played well for us. I was really happy to see us only turn the ball over 8 times tonight,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
The Warriors next will play at 3rd-rated Grand Island Central Catholic on Saturday night. Wahoo improves to 10-6, while Arlington drops to 4-11.

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Syracuse Rockets 50-37 on Saturday night in the Capitol Conference Finals.
The Warriors scored the first basket of the game on a put-back from Cole Barry, but it would be the Warriors’ only lead of the game. Syracuse led 11-4 after one quarter, and stretched the lead to 22-10 at halftime. The Warriors were plagued by 10 turnovers and 5 of 20 (25%) shooting from the field.
The Rockets extended the lead over Wahoo in the third quarter and led 42-20 after three quarters. The Warriors outscored the Rockets 17-8 in the fourth quarter to make the final score 50-37.
Josh Discher and Cole Barry led Wahoo with 8 points apiece. Wahoo was just 1-13 from the three point line, while Syracuse was 7-19. Discher led Wahoo with 9 boards, while Cole Barry added 7 rebounds. Wahoo out-rebounded Syracuse 33-22, but turned the ball over 23 times compared to 11 for Syracuse. The Rockets had just 3 turnovers in the first three quarters.
“You have to give Syracuse a lot of credit for the excellent defense that they played. They really made things tough for us on the offensive end. We missed some shots from close range early on that were really needed to keep the game close. We just really struggled all night long offensively. I thought Josh Discher and Cole Barry played well for us, as they led us in scoring and rebounding,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Wahoo dropped to 9-6, while Syracuse improved to 13-2. Wahoo will next travel to Arlington on Friday night to play the Eagles.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays 59-44 in the Semi-Finals of the Capitol Conference Tournament at Raymond Central.
The Warriors got off to a good start. A put-back by Cole Barry was the first score of the game for Wahoo. Six different Warriors, led by Greg Milliken’s five first quarter points, scored for Wahoo in the opening period. A Josh Discher basket to end the quarter put Wahoo up 17-7 after one quarter.
The Warriors maintained the lead throughout the second quarter, though missed free throw opportunities prevented Wahoo from expanding the lead. Wahoo was just 5-13 from the line in the first half, and went to the halftime up 25-16.
In the third quarter, Ashland made a couple of different runs at Wahoo. Following a Milliken trey, which put Wahoo up 28-18, the Bluejays scored the next 6 points to cut the lead to 28-24. A Cole Barry basket, and two free throws from Jake Barry pushed the lead back to 8 at 32-24. Wahoo led 37-28 after two Discher free throws, but after a free throw from Nick Pease, Ashland cut the lead to 37-32 with one minute left in the quarter. A Discher 3-point play to end the quarter put Wahoo up 40-32 after three quarters.
The Warriors slowly pulled away in the fourth quarter. Two free throws from Jake Barry pushed the Warrior lead to 12 at 46-34. The Bluejays scored to make it 46-36, but a Max Cook basket and two Sean Lindgren free throws made it 50-36 with 3:30 left. Wahoo would make 9-10 from the line in the fourth quarter to preserve the win 59-44.
Milliken led the Warriors with 18 points. Discher contributed 12 points and Jake Barry added 11. Lindgren led the Warriors in rebounding with 7 boards, Jake Barry and Discher contributed 6 boards apiece. Max Cook had 4 assists and 5 steals. The Warriors forced 27 Bluejay turnovers.
Wahoo now faces Syracuse in the Conference Tournament Finals today at 6:15 p.m. at Raymond Central, and now stands at 9-5.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Fort Calhoun Pioneers 62-54 in the first round of the Capitol Conference Tournament on Tuesday night.
Fort Calhoun got out to an early 7-3 lead after a basket by Cody White. Wahoo then went on a run, which included three Max Cook treys, and a basket by Sam Cook put Wahoo up 15-11. The Warriors led 15-14 after one quarter.
Calhoun scored the first two baskets of the second quarter to go up 18-15. Free throws from Cole Barry and a Jake Barry basket put Wahoo back on top 19-18. A Christian Hohl trey gave Wahoo the lead for good at 22-20. Moments later, Hohl hit another trey to put Wahoo up 27-22. A Greg Milliken basket put Wahoo up 31-24 at halftime.
The Warriors scored on seven of their first nine possessions of the third quarter to take command of the game. Following a Cole Barry basket, and a Milliken free throw, the Warriors led 47-26. The quarter ended with Wahoo up 47-28.
Milliken basket put Wahoo up 49-28 one minute into the fourth quarter, but from there, things would get ugly for the Warriors. Three consecutive treys from the Pioneers, including two from Thomas Luzure, cut the Warrior lead to 51-37. A Jake Barry basket put Wahoo up 54-39 with 5 minutes left, but the Pioneers would score the next 5 points to make it 54-44 with 4 minutes left. Following two Josh Discher free throws, Wahoo led 56-44, but another 5-0 run by Calhoun cut the lead to 7 at 56-49 with 3 minutes left. A Cole Barry basket pushed the lead back to 9 at 58-49, but 5 more points from Steven Willey cut the Warrior lead to 4 at 58-54 with 32 seconds left. Max Cook and Cole Barry were able to hit 4 consecutive free throws to allow the Warriors to pull out the win, 62-54.
“We just have to be able to put teams away, when we have them down like that, and we were not able to do so. They hit three straight three’s, which really gave them some momentum, and then we really started making some poor decisions with the basketball. We have to handle that situation better. Max Cook and Cole Barry did step up and hit four big free throws right at the end. We played really well in the second and third quarters. We just need to stay more consistent,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
“Jake Barry did an outstanding job on the glass tonight for us. Greg Milliken raised his game in the second half and did a good job. Max Cook has really gotten us off to good starts each of the last two games, and Christian Hohl really provided a spark in the second quarter with his shooting,” Scheef added.
Jake Barry recorded a game-high 16 rebounds, as the Warriors out-rebounded Calhoun 35-28. Milliken scored 16 points and had 5 assists for Wahoo. Max Cook had 12 points on 3-5 shooting from behind the arc, along with 4 steals. Jake and Cole Barry each had 8 points for the Warriors.
Wahoo improves to 8-5 and will next face Ashland-Greenwood on Friday night in the Conference Tournament Semi-Finals. Fort Calhoun drops to 5-7.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Raymond Central Mustangs 73-43 in Capitol Conference action on Saturday night.
Max Cook got the Warriors started off by hitting two treys to open the game and put Wahoo up 6-0. Cook had 13 of his game high 17 points in the first half. The game was close in the first quarter. Central led 11-10 after a Nathan Brenner basket. A Josh Discher basket gave the Warriors a 12-11 lead, and they would not trail again. A Cole Barry steal and 3-point play to end the quarter put Wahoo up 15-11 after one quarter.
The Warriors scored the first 7 points of the second quarter, including two baskets from Max Cook, and a Cole Barry basket, to go up 22-11. A Sam Cook basket with two seconds left in the half sent the Warriors to halftime up 34-19.
Wahoo increased the lead throughout the quarter. A Sean Lindgren basket closed the third quarter with Wahoo ahead 54-30.
Reserves played most of the fourth quarter. Derek Fiala scored 8 points in the quarter behind two treys, to close out the Warrior win.
Max Cook led four Warriors in double figures. Cole Barry scored 13 points, Jake Barry had 12, and Greg Milliken contributed 10.
Jake Barry led the Warriors with 8 boards. Greg Milliken had 5 steals, and Max Cook had 7 assists.
Wahoo shot 62 percent from the floor (31-50), and forced 23 Mustang turnovers.
Wahoo improved to 7-5, while Raymond Central fell to 1-11. Wahoo will next host Fort Calhoun on Tuesday night in the first round of the Capitol Conference Tournament.

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Norfolk Catholic Knights 69-55 on Saturday night in Norfolk.
The Knights started off very hot against the Warriors and jumped out to a 23-10 lead after one quarter of play. From that point on, the Knights maintained their lead over the Warriors. Wahoo would not get closer than 11 the rest of the way. Norfolk Catholic led 39-25 at halftime, and 53-35 after three quarters.
The Warriors had a lot of trouble with the Norfolk Catholic press. The Knights forced 21 Warrior turnovers. Norfolk Catholic was 6-14 from the three-point line, while Wahoo was 0-5.
Jake Barry led Wahoo with 13 points on 6-7 shooting from the field. Josh Discher added 10 points on 4-4 shooting from the field. Max Cook, Greg Milliken, and Cole Barry added 8 points apiece.
Sean Lindgren led the Warriors with 7 boards, while Jake Barry contributed 6.
The Warriors fell to 6-5, while Norfolk Catholic improved to 10-2.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated Capitol Conference foe D.C. West 71-63 on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors got off to a good start as they led 17-11 after one quarter, behind nine first quarter points from Greg Milliken.
Wahoo increased the lead to 20-13 after a Christian Hohl lay up. The Warriors then hit a big dry spell, as they would not score on their next 7 possessions. D.C. West scored 12 unanswered points to take a 25-20 lead. A Josh Discher drive to the basket cut the Falcon lead to 31-28 at halftime.
In the third quarter, D.C. West scored on their first two possessions to increase their lead to 35-28. Following a time-out, Wahoo went to a full court press, and were able to force nine third quarter turnovers from the Falcons. Wahoo would outscore D.C. 21-5 the rest of the quarter to take a 49-40 lead after three quarters. Max Cook, Milliken and Jake Barry each scored 6 third quarter points.
Milliken scored to start the fourth quarter and gave the Warriors their largest lead of the game at 51-40. D.C. West then scored the next 6 points to cut the lead to 51-46. A crucial play of the game occurred on the next Falcon possession, when Jake Barry drew a charge on a driving lay up that would have cut the Warrior lead to 3. Wahoo then went to the other end, where Milliken hit a trey to push the Wahoo lead to 8 at 54-46.
Two Blake Lind free throws cut the Warrior lead to 62-58 with 2:00 remaining. Sean Lindgren answered with two free throws to make it 64-58. Two more Lind free throws made it 64-60, with 1:35 left. Two more free throws from Cole Barry again extended the lead to 66-60. Following a missed D.C. trey, Max Cook hit two free throws to make it 68-60. Three more free throws from Lindgren and Cole Barry accounted for the final scoring and Wahoo escaped with a hard-fought 71-63 win.
"The two areas that we had been really struggling with were turnovers and free throw shooting, and we were outstanding in both areas tonight. We had 47 turnovers in our two previous games, but just 9 tonight. We had also really struggled at the line all year, but were 31-43 (72%) tonight, including a 6-6 stretch late in the game with the game on the line. Our kids really competed tonight and found a way to win against a good team. After back to back losses, we needed a win tonight and we got one," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated on Thursday night by the Syracuse Rockets 63-55.
Syracuse led 12-9 after one quarter. Cole Barry had 5 of the Warriors’ 9 first quarter points.
In the second quarter, the Rockets led 20-15, when the Warriors went on a run. A Josh Discher basket, followed by treys from Christian Hohl and Max Cook, and two free throws from Cole Barry completed a 10-0 run that put Wahoo up 25-20. An Adam Vogt trey with 20 seconds left in the half for Syracuse tied the game up at 28 at halftime.
The third quarter remained tight. A Max Cook bucket with 30 seconds left in the third cut the Syracuse lead to 43-41 after three quarters.
A Greg Milliken basket to start the fourth quarter tied the game at 43. A basket from Austin Graham and a trey from Vogt gave the Rockets a 48-43 lead. Syracuse extended the lead to 56-47 following a Nate Stilmock trey. A steal and basket by Jake Barry and a three-point play from Josh Discher cut the Rocket lead to 56-52 with 3 minutes left. The Rockets would go 7-9 from the free throw line in the final 3 minutes to pull away for the 63-55 win.
"Our effort and intensity were much better than last Saturday at Crete. I liked the way that we competed tonight. Two areas that have plagued us all season hurt us again tonight, and that is turnovers and free throw shooting. You are not going to beat good teams turning the ball over 23 times in a game and shooting 50 percent from the line,” said Head Coach Kevin Sheef. “You have to also give Syracuse a lot of credit. They have two very good players in Nick Reed and Adam Vogt who stepped up and made big plays when they needed them."
Reed led Syracuse with 24 points while Vogt added 18 on 4-7 shooting from behind the arc. Milliken and Discher led Wahoo with 11 points, while Max Cook and Cole Barry added 9 points. Jake Barry contributed 8 points.
Discher led Wahoo with 10 boards, as the Warriors outrebounded the Rockets 28-21. Max Cook had 5 assists for Wahoo.
Wahoo drops to 5-4 with the loss, while Syracuse improves to 8-2. Wahoo will next face D.C. West on Saturday.

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated on Saturday afternoon by the Crete Cardinals 57-48.
The Warriors trailed 16-15 after one quarter, but opened up a 4-point lead at halftime 29-25 behind 8 second quarter points from Greg Milliken.
Wahoo opened up an 8-point lead early in the third after two baskets from Milliken to make it 33-25. The Warriors would not score on their next 8 possessions however, as Crete went on a 12-0 run to take a 37-33 lead. Crete led 39-35 after three quarters.
A Josh Discher trey cut the Cardinal lead to 41-39 early in the fourth. A three-point play from Mitch Marvin pushed the lead back to 44-39. Two Max Cook free throws cut the Cardinal lead to 3 at 50-47 with 1:20 left. Crete would hit 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to seal the 57-48 win.
The Warriors were plagued by turnovers, as they committed 24 in the game. Crete, led by 6'9” Junior Grant Harms, was able to block 12 Wahoo shots.
"We had a number of opportunities to take control of the game in the first half, but turnovers prevented us from doing that. Crete did a nice job defensively, but we have to do a better job of taking care of the ball. It was a frustrating game, and one that we feel like we let slip away," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
The Warriors were led in scoring by Milliken with 14 points and 4 assists. Jake Barry led Wahoo on the glass with 10 boards.
In addition to the 24 turnovers, Wahoo shot just 32 percent from the floor (16-50).
Wahoo drops to 5-3, while Crete improved to 2-5. Wahoo will travel to Syracuse on Thursday for a rescheduled game.

The Wahoo Warriors improved to 5-2 after defeating the Nebraska City Pioneers 81-46 in the consolation game of the Holiday Tournament.
The game was close through the first quarter. A Derek Fiala trey to end the quarter put Wahoo up 13-8 after one quarter.
The game remained close through the first half of the second quarter. Wahoo led just 17-15 with 4:00 minutes remaining when they went on a 17-0 run. Greg Milliken had 15 of his game high 20 points in the second quarter. Wahoo led 34-17 at halftime.
Jake Barry scored 6 of his 15 points in the third quarter as the Warriors continued to increase their lead. Wahoo led 56-27 after three quarters.
Reserves played most of the fourth quarter. The Warriors had 10 players score and 9 players had 5 or more points.
Wahoo shot 62.3 percent from the floor, as they were 33-53. Wahoo also forced 30 Nebraska City turnovers.
In addition to Milliken's 20 points, he also had 9 boards, 6 assists and 6 steals.
"Greg played a great game today. The scoring is nice, but it is great to see him fill up the stat sheet with rebounding, steals, and assists. We were a little sluggish in the first quarter and a half, but we played really well from that point on. Our full court pressure really caused them a lot of problems and forced them into a lot of turnovers. It was good to see us respond well after a really tough loss last night to Christian," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Wahoo will next be on the road at Syracuse on January 8.

A shot at the buzzer came up just short as the Lincoln Christian Crusaders defeated the Wahoo Warriors 75-73 in the first round of the Bishop Neumann Holiday Tournament.
Wahoo got off to a good start. Consecutive baskets from Sean Lindgren, Jake Barry and Greg Milliken put Wahoo up 13-6. Five consecutive turnovers from Wahoo allowed Lincoln Christian to go on an 8-0 run to end the quarter up 14-13.
The Warriors regained the lead in the second quarter and led 19-16 after a Josh Discher basket; however, the Crusaders would score on eight consecutive baskets midway through the period and an Andre Orduna trey to end the half put Christian up 38-27 at halftime.
A Ben Manley bucket gave Christian its biggest lead of the game at 13, 40-27 to open the half. The Warriors would then begin to chop away at the lead. A 10-1 run to end the quarter, which included the final two buckets from Discher and Cole Barry tied the game up at 43 heading into the final quarter. Wahoo forced 10 Lincoln Christian turnovers in the third quarter.
The game was still tied at 48, when Jake Barry gave Wahoo its first lead since the first quarter at 50-48. A 7-0 run for Christian put them back up at 55-50. After an Austin Mathers driving bucket, Christian led 61-52. A free throw from Jake Barry followed by a Discher basket cut the lead to 61-55.
A minute later, a conventional three point play from Max Cook cut the lead to 63-60. Christian then extended the lead back to 9 at 71-62 with 1:15 left in the game. Discher hit two free throws with 1:00 minute left to make it 71-64. Following an Mather free throw, Milliken scored to make it 72-66 with 44 seconds left. A Christian turnover followed by another Discher basket made it 72-68 with 30 seconds left. Another Christian turnover led to a Max Cook trey to make it 72-71 with 20 seconds left.
Mathers then broke loose and scored on a conventional three point play with 14 seconds left to make it 75-71. A Max Cook drive and basket cut the lead to 75-73 with 4 seconds left. Jake Barry then stole the ball at mid-court and the Warriors had one final shot at the buzzer that did not go, and allowed Christian to escape at 75-73.
"Lincoln Christian has a very good team. Austin Mathers is a terrific player that we could not stop. I am very proud of our kids’ efforts tonight and their resiliency. They never stopped fighting and competing. Things looked pretty bleak a couple of times, but these kids would not quit, and you cannot ask for any more than that. There are many things that you can point to that we need to do better, but these kids really play hard," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Discher led four Warriors in double figures with 17 points. Jake Barry contributed 15. Milliken had 13 points, and Max Cook had 12. Cole Barry and Lindgren each added 8 points. Mathers led Lincoln Christian with 33.
Jake Barry led Wahoo with 11 boards, and Discher added 10, as the Warriors out-rebounded the taller Crusaders 34-25. Milliken had 7 steals, Jake Barry added 4 steals, and Cole Barry led Wahoo with 4 assists.
Wahoo falls to 4-2 and will face Nebraska City in the Consolation game of the Holiday Tourney tomorrow. Lincoln Christian improves to 6-0.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Fort Calhoun Pioneers 82-73 in Capitol Conference action on Saturday night. The Warriors saw a 20 point second half lead cut to 3 in the fourth quarter.
The Warriors had a big first quarter and jumped out to a 21-11 lead behind 6 points from Jake Barry.
Wahoo led 28-22 midway through the second quarter, when Josh Discher hit a trey from the wing. Discher then added two free throws, and after a Greg Milliken basket, Wahoo led 35-23. Another Discher basket with one second left put Wahoo up 41-28 at the halftime break.
The Warriors continued to build their lead throughout the third quarter. A Derek Fiala trey with three minutes left in the third gave Wahoo its biggest lead at 20 points, 56-36. From there the momentum would shift Calhoun's way. The Pioneers scored on their last four possessions of the third quarter to cut the lead to 10 at 62-52 after three quarters.
Calhoun continued their comeback in the fourth quarter. A Stephen Willey trey cut the Warrior lead to 68-64. The lead was 70-66 with 3:30 to play, when Max Cook hit a driving lay up to put Wahoo up 72-66. A Thomas Luzure trey with 2:40 left cut the Warrior lead to 3 at 72-69.
Following a missed shot from the Warriors, Fort Calhoun had a chance to tie the game up, but a shot rimmed out. On the next Warrior possession, Discher was fouled, and converted both free throws to make it 74-69. Following another Calhoun miss, The Warriors got fouled, missed the front end of a one and one, but Discher grabbed the rebound, made the putback and was fouled. Discher converted the free throw to put Wahoo up 8 at 77-69 with 1:36 left. Four free throws from Greg Milliken iced the game away for the Warriors at 82-73.
"This game was very similar to Friday night's game against Centennial. We work hard to build a big lead, and then we are not able to put the team away. We let them back in the game, and things got very tight in the last four minutes, but nonetheless, the kids did not panic and made the plays at the end that we needed to. Josh Discher really came up big on two straight possessions after they cut the lead to 3. We had foul trouble issues tonight, and it affected the way that we need to play defense. You also have to give Calhoun a lot of credit, as they have three kids who can really shoot the basketball," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Discher and Milliken led the Warriors with 20 points apiece. Jake Barry contributed 14 points, and Sean Lindgren added 12. Fort Calhoun's three guards, Thomas Luzure, Stephen Green, and Stephen Willey combined for 60 of Calhoun's 73 points.
Wahoo out-rebounded Fort Calhoun 52-35. Cole Barry led Wahoo with 13 boards. Discher had 12 boards, Jake Barry contributed 11 rebounds, and Sean Lindgren added 9 boards.
Max Cook had 4 steals and 4 assists, and Cole Barry had 5 assists.
Wahoo improves to 4-1 and will next play on the 29th in the Neumann Holiday Tournament against Lincoln Christian. Fort Calhoun drops to 1-3.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Centennial Broncos 53-46 on Thursday night.
Wahoo got off to a great start behind Greg Milliken’s 12 first quarter points. A three point shot from Derek Fiala put Wahoo up 21-9 after one quarter.
The Warrior lead was still 10 at 29-19 with a minute left in the half, when Josh Discher scored on a drive, and Milliken came up with a steal and lay up with 2 seconds left to send Wahoo to the halftime break up 33-19.
Centennial cut into the Warrior lead in the third quarter. Following a K.J. Gierhan trey to make it 35-26, the Warriors’ Max Cook hit back-to-back treys to push the lead back to 15 at 41-26. A Sean Lindgren trey at the third quarter buzzer put Wahoo up 46-33.
The fourth quarter would be a struggle for the Warriors. The Broncos scored the first 7 points of the quarter to cut the Warrior lead to 46-40 with 5 minutes remaining. A Jake Barry basket made it 48-40. Two free throws a minute later from the Broncos’ Tyler Wullenwaber cut the lead to 49-44 with 3 minutes remaining. Two Max Cook free throws made it 51-44.
Turnovers on the Broncos’ last four possessions prevented the Broncos from getting any closer. Missed free throw opportunities from the Warriors prevented them from putting the game away earlier. Wahoo was 5-14 from the line in the fourth quarter, and 7-19 for the game from the line.
“It was a good win over a big and athletic Centennial team. They returned 4 of 5 starters from a year ago, when they beat us in double overtime, so we were very worried about this game. Our effort was again very good. That is the best thing that we have going for us, in that we play hard. Our inability to knock down free throws made the fourth quarter much more stressful than it needed to be, but it was still a good win. We played a really good first half. Greg Milliken played very well, especially in the first half, and did a great job on the defensive end with 7 steals. Jake Barry and Josh Discher did a great job on the glass, and Max Cook really hit two big treys in the third quarter for us,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Milliken led Wahoo with 15 points. Jake Barry had 10 and Max Cook added 9. Jake Barry and Discher led the Warriors with 10 rebounds apiece. Milliken had 7 steals. Wahoo was 6-11 from behind the arc, but just 7-19 at the free throw line.
Wahoo improves to 3-1 and travels to Fort Calhoun tonight. Centennial falls to 2-2.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Logan View Raiders 65-46 on Saturday afternoon.
Wahoo was down 10-8, when Jake Barry scored the last four points of the quarter to put Wahoo up 12-10.
The Warriors went on a 9-2 run to open the second quarter. A Jake Barry basket, and Cole Barry free throw put Wahoo up 21-12. Wahoo still led 23-16, when Sean Lindgren hit two free throws, and Greg Milliken had a lay up and then hit a trey to put Wahoo up 30-17 at halftime.
Logan View cut into the lead in the third quarter, and halfway through the quarter, it was 32-25. The Warriors then went on an 8-0 run. Milliken had 6 of the 8 in the run, to put Wahoo up 40-25. The third quarter ended with Wahoo up 44-28.
The Warriors would gradually increase the lead in the fourth quarter. Following another Milliken trey, Wahoo had their biggest lead of the game at 58-34, before going on to the 65-46 win.
"I thought our defensive pressure was good again. We have played very solid defense through our first three games. We absolutely have to take better care of the ball. We are committing way too many turnovers, and those have to get cut down to beat the good teams. Our rebounding was better tonight, but we did shoot free throws very well tonight. I thought Greg Milliken played very well for us tonight," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Milliken led the Warriors with 20 points. Jake Barry had 14 points, and Sean Lindgren added 10. Barry led the way on the glass with 9 boards, followed by Milliken and Josh Discher with 5 a piece. Milliken and Barry both had 4 steals. Max Cook, Sam Cook, and Cole Barry each had 4 assists.
The Warriors shot 52 percent from the field, but just 50 percent from the free throw line, and turned the ball over 21 times. The Warriors forced 26 Logan View turnovers, and allowed the Raiders to shoot just 36 percent from the field.
Wahoo improves to 2-1, while Logan View drops to 1-2. Wahoo will host Centennial on Thursday and travel to Fort Calhoun on Friday.
Basketball Boys Fall to Seward in Season's First Away Game

The Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Seward Bluejays 44-33 on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors got off to a rough start. Turnovers on four of their first five possessions allowed Seward to get out to an 8-0 lead. The Warriors then settled down and battled back, and after a Josh Discher lay up, led 10-8. The score was tied at 10 after one quarter.
Wahoo trailed 14-10 early in the second quarter, when their offense got untracked for awhile. A Sean Lindgren bucket, followed by a Jake Barry three got the Warriors going on a 12-2 run to end the half, up 22-16.
Turnovers were again the Warriors undoing to start the second half, as they turned it over on four of their first five possessions. Seward outscored Wahoo 13-2 in the third quarter to take a 29-24 lead into the fourth.
A free throw from Lindgren, and a Milliken lay up cut the Bluejay lead to 29-27. Back-to-back treys from sophomore Brock Lewis put Seward up 35-29. Four free throws on two possessions cut the Bluejay lead to 35-31. Turnovers and missed free throws would prevent the Warriors from getting any closer. Seward hit 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win, 44-33.
"Seward plays excellent man-to-man defense. They were quick, physical, and aggressive out of it, and we really struggled against it. We have to take better care of the basketball. We had too many turnovers both last night and tonight. After playing very well in our opener last night, we just seemed a step slow and just did not play as well as last night,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Lindgren led Wahoo with 12 points, and Milliken added 8 points. Jake Barry and Cole Barry led the Warriors with 7 rebounds a piece. Cole Barry added 3 steals. One night after shooting 50% against Bennington from the field, Wahoo shot just 34% from the floor.
Wahoo falls to 1-1, while Seward improves to 1-1. Wahoo will face Logan View at home next Saturday night.

The Wahoo Warriors basketball season got off to a great start, as they defeated conference rival Bennington 69-57 in the season opener for both teams.
The two teams traded leads early, and the Warriors led 11-10 when Derek Fiala and Max Cook hit back-to-back treys to put up Wahoo up 17-10 at the end of one quarter.
Back-to-back buckets from Josh Discher put Wahoo up 23-12 early in the second quarter. The Badgers then cut into the lead. A Hayden Byrd basket cut the Warrior lead to 28-24. However, a Greg Milliken lay up, and two free throws a piece from Sean Lindgren and Milliken took the Warriors to the halftime with a 34-24 lead.
The Warriors got off to a great start in the second half. A three-point play from Jake Barry and Milliken basket put Wahoo up 15, at 39-24 early in the third quarter. The lead was still 13 at 49-36, late in the third when Discher made one of two free throws, Jake Barry scored on a drive to the basket, and Milliken hit a three to end the quarter to put Wahoo up 55-36 after three quarters.
A 10-2 run by the Warriors, capped by a Max Cook lay up gave the Warriors their largest lead at 27, 65-38, with 6:30 left in the game. Some sloppy play by the Warriors in the final five minutes allowed Bennington to make the final margin 12 at 69-57.
"I was very excited with our effort tonight. I thought we played very hard on the defensive end of the floor. On the offensive end, we shared the ball and got good looks, which allowed us to shoot 51% for the game. We have to do a much better job rebounding the ball, but overall, I thought it was a great start for our kids," said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
