The Wahoo Warriors punched their ticket to State by defeating the St. Paul Wildcats 79-15 on Tuesday night in Wahoo.
The Warriors led 19-5 after one quarter and led 44-10 at halftime. Reserves played almost all of the second half.
Marcus Glock, Anthony Simon, and Keegan Brigham all paced the Warriors with 11 points. Simon led Wahoo with 5 boards. Garrett Grandgenett had 6 steals, and Owen Hancock had 5 assists.
The Warriors shot 60.8% (31-51) from the field while St. Paul shot 16.2% (6-37). Wahoo forced 25 St. Paul turnovers while committing just 7 themselves.
Wahoo improved to 24-1 and advances to next week’s State Tournament where they will face Auburn. St. Paul ends their season at 10-12.

The Wahoo Warriors used a big second quarter to defeat the #3-ranked Ashland-Bluejays 54-32 on Thursday night in Wahoo in the Sub-District Finals.
The game was tied at 10 when Kamron Kasischke hit a half-court shot at the first quarter buzzer to put Wahoo up 13-10.
Another Kasischke trey to open the second quarter put Wahoo up 16-10. A third Kasischke trey made it 19-12. Two Marcus Glock free throws and back-to-back Trey Simon buckets made it 25-12. Another Kasischke bucket increased the lead to 27-12. An Owen Hancock bucket and a Kasischke layup made it 31-14 to end the half.
The scoring was even in the third quarter at 7 a piece to make it 38-21 heading into the fourth quarter. The Warrior lead would grow to 24 at 54-30, before ending with the 54-32 win.
“This was a really nice win for us in postseason play,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “I thought our defense was outstanding tonight. We really shut down driving lanes and made everything tough for them offensively. Kamron Kasischke and Trey Simon both had really big games for us.”
Kasischke led the Warriors with 15 points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc, to go with 5 boards. Simon had 10 points on 4-5 shooting from the field. Anthony Simon had a game-high 8 boards. Benji Nelson and Glock both had a game-high 4 assists.
Wahoo was 20-38 (52.6%) from the field while Ashland-Greenwood was 13-38 (34.2%). The Warriors outrebounded the Bluejays 28-17.
Wahoo is now 23-1 and advances to the District Final to face St. Paul. Ashland-Greenwood dropped to 23-2, and will advance to a District Final as well.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers 71-28 in Sub-District action on Tuesday night in Wahoo.
The Warriors led 22-5 after one quarter of play and stretched the lead to 40-12 by halftime.
“I was pleased with our effort and how we played. We defended well on the defensive end, and we moved the ball well and shot it well on the offensive end. It was a really good start to postseason play for us,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Anthony Simon led the Warriors with 14 points on 2-3 shooting from behind the arc to go with 4 assists. Benji Nelson had 10 points on 4-5 shooting from the field to go with 6 boards. Marcus Glock added 10 points. Owen Hancock added 7 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists. Garrett Grandgenett had a team-high 7 boards.
The Warriors out-rebounded the Cavaliers 36-19, and committed just 6 turnovers, while forcing 15 Cavalier turnovers.
Wahoo improved to 22-1 and will host Ashland-Greenwood in the Sub-District Final on Thursday night. Bishop Neumann ended its season at 13-11.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Malcolm Clippers 83-62 on Friday night in Malcolm, in the regular season finale for both teams.
Malcolm jumped out to a 12-4 lead to start the game. The Warriors would score the next 11 points to take a 15-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
Behind the red-hot shooting of Marcus Glock, Wahoo opened up a 40-19 lead. The Clippers cut the lead to 40-24 at halftime. Glock was 7-8 from behind the arc in the first half and had 23 first half points.
Wahoo continued to build the lead in the third quarter and led 69-43 after three quarters.
“We were really good offensively tonight,” stated Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “Marcus Glock had an unbelievable shooting night. I thought his teammates were really unselfish tonight. They recognized that he was hot and did a great job of getting him the ball tonight for a lot of open looks. We did not defend or rebound at the level that we need to, though, for the postseason. We have to go to work on those two areas.”
Glock led the Warriors with 28 points on 8-10 shooting from behind the arc. Anthony Simon had 16 points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc, to go with 5 boards, and 6 assists. Benji Nelson added 12 points and 3 steals.
Wahoo was 17-30 (56.7%) from behind the arc, and committed just 3 turnovers on the night, while forcing 13 Clipper turnovers. Malcolm outrebounded the Warriors 28-20.
Wahoo improved to 21-1 entering the Subdistrict Tournament and will face the winner of Bishop Neumann and Arlington on Tuesday night at home. Malcolm fell to 16-7.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Class A North Platte Bulldogs 58-51 in the Heartland Hoops Classic out in Grand Island on Saturday afternoon.
North Platte got off to a good start and took a 12-3 lead midway through the first quarter. The Warriors trailed 14-7 after one quarter.
Wahoo was still down 20-12 midway through the second quarter but went on a 9-3 run that was capped by a Garrett Grandgenett trey and a Benji Nelson bucket to close the Bulldogs’ halftime lead to 23-21.
The Warriors took its first lead since early in the game on a Marcus Glock bucket to go up 28-26 in the third. Wahoo trailed 38-34 late in the third, but a bucket from Glock, a Trey Simon free throw, and a Nelson bucket put Wahoo back up 39-38 heading to the fourth quarter.
North Platte again regained the lead to 45-41 with 6:00 minutes to play. A Glock trey made it 45-44. An Owen Hancock bucket gave the Warriors the lead back at 46-45. A Kamron Kasischke bucket put Wahoo up three at 48-45. A Bulldog bucket with 2:25 left made it 48-47. Two Grandgenett free throws pushed the lead to 50-47. Two Hancock free throws made it 52-47.
A Bulldog bucket cut the lead to 52-49 with 55 seconds left. Two Simon free throws made it 54-49. North Platte would cut it to 54-51 with 20 second left, but four Glock free throws sealed the 58-51 win in the closing seconds.
“This was a great opportunity for our kids to play a Class A team on a big stage that felt like a State Tournament setting,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “The first half was a struggle, but I was really proud of our kids for stepping up and getting the job done in the second half. We hit some big free throws in the fourth quarter that allowed us to escape with the win.”
Glock led the Warriors with 19 points on 6-6 shooting from the line, to go with 5 boards. Hancock added 11 points on 3-3 shooting from the line to go with 4 assists. Grandgenett had 6 boards.
Wahoo outrebounded North Platte 27-19, and were 17-21 from the line, compared to 8-9 for the Bulldogs.
Wahoo improved to 20-1, while North Platte dropped to 13-7. The Warriors will travel to Malcolm on Friday night in the regular season finale.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Plattsmouth Blue Devils 76-49 on Thursday night in the last regular season home game for the Warriors on Senior Night.
Wahoo jumped out to a 15-2 lead to start the game and led 20-7 after one quarter. The Warriors increased the lead to 37-11 late in the second quarter before heading to the halftime break with a 37-16 lead. The score after three quarters was 61-28.
“It was a really good Senior Night,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “I thought our kids played hard, and really did a nice job of moving and sharing the ball offensively.”
Wahoo was led by Marcus Glock with 17 points on 8-11 shooting from the field. Kamron Kasischke had 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the field to with a game-high 7 boards and 3 steals. Garrett Grandgenett added 10 points on 4-5 shooting from the field. Anthony Simon added 9 points on 4-6 shooting from the floor along with 5 assists. Owen Hancock had 9 points on 4-7 shooting from the floor along with 4 boards, and Benji Nelson had 9 points on 4-6 shooting from the field to go with 3 steals.
Wahoo shot 58.2% from the field (32-55) and forced 16 Blue Devil turnovers, compared to just 8 for Wahoo.
The Warriors will travel to Grand Island on Saturday to compete in the Heartland Classic against North Platte. The Warriors improved to 19-1, while Plattsmouth fell to 7-12.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Beatrice Orangemen 46-38 on Saturday afternoon in Wahoo.
Wahoo led 14-8 after one quarter, and 24-17 at the half. The third quarter stayed close and the Warriors led 32-26 heading to the fourth quarter.
An Anthony Simon three-point play extended the Warrior lead to 35-26. An Owen Hancock layup made it 37-26. Moments later a Benji Nelson trey pushed the lead to 12 at 40-28. Two Marcus Glock free throws gave the Warriors their largest lead at 46-31 with a minute left, before ending with the 46-38 win.
“We knew that this was going to be a tough team,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “Beatrice is very deliberate; they play excellent defense and are a physical team. We knew that this was going to have to be one of those games where you have to win ugly, and that is sure how it played out. It is hard to get in an offensive rhythm when the possessions are so limited, but our kids got it going in the fourth quarter and were able to get the job done. Overall, it was a great weekend for us.”
Glock led the Warriors with 14 points on 5-7 shooting from the field. Hancock had 11 points on 5-7 shooting from the field. Garrett Grandgenett had a game-high 6 boards for the Warriors, and Simon had 6 assists.
The Warriors improved to 18-1, while Beatrice fell to 10-7. Wahoo will host Plattsmouth on Thursday night for Senior Night.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Class B #2-ranked Crete Cardinals 76-61 on Friday night in Wahoo.
The Warriors jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game, but Crete scored the next 12 points to take a 12-6 lead. Wahoo scored the next five to cut the lead to 12-11, but trailed after one quarter of play 23-14.
The Warriors slowly chipped away in the second quarter. Two Anthony Simon free throws tied the game at 30. Two Marcus Glock free throws gave Wahoo its first lead since early in the game at 38-36. A Garrett Grandgenett trey at the first half buzzer sent the Warriors to the locker room with a 41-38 lead.
A Glock trey to open the third period pushed the lead to 44-38. Another Glock trey, followed by a steal and layup from Kamron Kasischke, put Wahoo up 49-40. Two back-to-back Kasischke treys put the Warriors up 62-46 and the quarter ended with Wahoo up 62-48.
The Cardinals were able to get no closer than nine points in the fourth as Wahoo held on for the 76-61 win.
“This was a great win over a really good team,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We battled some adversity in the first half, and were not great defensively, but we did not get rattled, and worked our way back in the game, and then played a really good third quarter. Kamron Kasischke came up really big tonight, and Marcus Glock was really good offensively.”
Glock led Wahoo with 27 points on 3-5 shooting from behind the arc and 12-13 shooting at the line. Kasischke added 13 points on 3-4 shooting from three. Simon had 10 points, 6 boards, and 6 assists. Owen Hancock added 9 points and 5 boards.
Wahoo was 11-23 (47.8%) from three-point range and forced 17 Cardinal turnovers while committing just 12.
Wahoo improved to 17-1, while Crete fell to 17-3. The Warriors host Beatrice on Saturday afternoon.

“We were not real sharp early, and we did not shoot the ball very well from behind the arc, but the second half, we picked up our intensity and played better.” Said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.

Congratulations Warrior Boys Basketball: 2023 Nebraska Trailblazer Conference Champions!
The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Platteview Trojans 65-45 to win their second Trailblazer Conference title on Saturday in Wahoo.
Wahoo led 15-10 after one quarter but led just 26-24 at halftime. With the lead at 29-28 with 5:00 to play in the third quarter, the Warriors began to pull away. A Marcus Glock putback started the run, followed by an Anthony Simon drive and bucket to make it 35-28. Garrett Grandgenett then drew his second defensive charge of the game. That was followed by back-to-back treys from Owen Hancock and Simon to push the lead to 41-28, completing the 12-0 run. Wahoo led 43-31 after three quarters, and the Trojans would get no closer than nine points the rest of the way, before finishing with the 65-45 win.
“This is a big win,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “To beat an excellent team like Platteview twice is no small accomplishment, and we are very excited to take home another Conference Title. The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Malcolm Clippers 68-27 at home on Thursday night in the Trailblazer Conference Tournament Semifinals.
The Warriors jumped out to a 23-13 lead after one quarter and stretched the lead to 40-17 by halftime. The third quarter ended with Wahoo up 55-23.
“We were really sharp tonight on both ends of the floor,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We got some really good ball movement on the offensive end, which led to a lot of open looks, and on the defensive end, we did a really nice job of limiting their two best players to taking some tough shots, and really not letting either guy get in a rhythm.”
The Warriors forced 23 Malcolm turnovers, while committing just 9 themselves, and held Malcolm to 2-24 (8.3%) shooting from behind the arc.
Marcus Glock led the Warriors with 14 points. Anthony Simon added 13 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists. Kamron Kasischke had 11 points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc, along with 4 steals.
Wahoo improved to 14-1 and will host Platteview on Saturday in the Conference Tournament Finals. Malcolm dropped to 13-5.

The Wahoo Warriors used a 27-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to pull off a huge comeback and defeat the Waverly Vikings 47-37 on Friday night in Wahoo.
Wahoo jumped out to a 6-3 lead, but Waverly lead 11-10 after one quarter. The Viking defense stymied Wahoo throughout the second and third quarters. Waverly led 23-14 at the half and extended the lead to 34-20 after three quarters.
Waverly scored early in the fourth quarter to take their largest lead at 16 points (36-20) with 7:30 left in the game.
A Garrett Grandgenett trey got Wahoo started on the road back. An Owen Hancock put-back made it 36-25. An Anthony Simon jumper, followed by two Kamron Kasischke free throws, cut the lead to 36-29. A Marcus Glock steal and layup made it 36-31 with 5:40 left.
In less than two minutes, Wahoo had cut a 16-point lead to 5. A Hancock steal and layup made it 36-33. A Kasischke steal and layup cut the lead to 1 at 36-35. A Hancock offensive rebound and put-back gave Wahoo its first lead since late in the first quarter at 37-36, with 3:46 left.
In four minutes of action, Wahoo had a 17-0 run, but were not done. Another Kasichke steal and layup made it 39-36 with 3:26 left. An A. Simon steal and dunk made it 41-36 with 3:10 left. Two Glock free throws with 2:45 left pushed the lead to 43-36. A Hancock dunk with 1:33 left made it 46-36, and a Grandgenett layup with 1:10 left capped the 27-0 run and made it 47-36. Waverly would add a free throw late to make the final 47-37.
“We were not a very good basketball team for three quarters. We were not getting much ball movement, we were not taking good shots, and we were turning it over,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “But that is the crazy thing about basketball. Momentum is such a big thing. We kept telling the kids, we just needed a couple of good things to happen in a row, and we would be fine. Once we got it going it became contagious, and everyone started making plays for us. It was a great fourth quarter for us and one heck of a comeback.”
Hancock led the Warriors with 11 points, 8 boards and 4 steals. Glock added 10 points. A. Simon had 4 steals.
After forcing only 9 turnovers through three quarters, the Warriors forced 10 fourth quarter turnovers from Waverly. Waverly was 7-13 from behind the arc in the first half, but just 1-8 in the second half.
Wahoo improved to 13-1, while Waverly fell to 8-5. The Warriors will get a bye in the first round of the Conference Tournament, and will host a semifinal game on Thursday.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Douglas County West Falcons 62-43 on Saturday afternoon in Wahoo.
The Warriors jumped out to a 16-6 lead after one quarter. Wahoo still had a 20-10 lead midway through the second quarter. Back-to-back treys from Benji Nelson and Anthony Simon helped spark a 10-0 run to close the half and give Wahoo a 30-10 halftime lead.
The Warriors led 45-25 after three quarters and the Falcons would not seriously threaten the rest of the way.
“We played so well on Friday night, and we were just not able to continue at that same level,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We did enough to get the win, but were just not real sharp tonight.”
Marcus Glock led the Warriors with 16 points on 9-10 shooting from the line to go with 7 boards. Nelson added 11 points on 4-4 shooting from the line. The Trojans jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game, but the Warriors scored the next 7 points to take a 7-5 lead, and the Warriors led 17-10 after one quarter.
Two Anthony Simon free throws at the second quarter buzzer sent Wahoo to the break with a 35-19 lead.
Wahoo increased the lead to 44-23 early in the third quarter, but the Trojans cut the lead to 50-37 late in the third; however, the Warriors responded with a 16-0 run over the next three minutes to put the game away at 66-37.
“This was a great win over an excellent team,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “Our kids were really locked in defensively tonight. Kamron Kasischke and Anthony Simon did a great job defensively on Connor Milliken. Offensively we shot it well from the perimeter early, and in the second half, we found each other on a lot of really good cuts to the rim. Just very proud of the kids’ efforts tonight.”

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Blair Bears 52-38 on Tuesday night in Blair.
The Warriors got off to a slow start, as Blair jumped ahead 10-2 to start the game. Wahoo cut the lead to 12-9 after one quarter. In the second quarter, Wahoo outscored the Bears 13-6 to take a 22-18 lead into the halftime break.
The Warriors scored the first five points of the second half, on a Benji Nelson trey and a Marcus Glock bucket to push the lead to 27-18. The Bears battled back to cut the lead to 32-28 after three quarters. Wahoo pushed the lead to 11 at 46-35, after six straight Glock points, and the Warriors were able to hold on to the 52-38 win.
“We weren’t overly sharp tonight,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We had 11 first half turnovers and were just 2-17 from the behind the arc tonight, but sometimes you have to win ugly, and we were able to do that tonight.”
Glock led three Warriors in double figures with 15 points and 8 boards. Nelson scored 14 points to go with 6 boards and 5 steals. Anthony Simon had 13 points to go with 6 boards. Kamron Kasischke had 5 steals.
The Warriors were just 2-17 (11.8%) from behind the arc, but outrebounded the Bears 27-21 and forced 20 Blair turnovers to just 15 for us.

Wahoo led 12-7 after one quarter of play. The Warriors went on a 21-0 run to start the second quarter to break the game open, taking a 33-7 lead. The half ended with Wahoo up 39-17. Wahoo would extend the lead to 58-27 heading to the fourth quarter.
“I thought we played real well against a good team. We played a great second quarter and were really able to frustrate them with our D,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.

The Chieftains jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the first quarter. Back-to-back baskets from Benji Nelson and a trey from Marcus Glock gave Wahoo a 12-10 lead. The quarter ended with Wahoo up 13-10.
The Warriors increased the lead to 16 by halftime at 31-15 and led 55-26 going into the fourth quarter.
“We got off to a slow start but played pretty well after that. Our press was able to force some turnovers and get our offense rolling,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Glock led the Warriors with 18 points on 4-5 shooting from behind the arc, to go with 5 boards. Anthony Simon scored 11 points, to go with 8 boards, 7 steals, and 7 assists. Nelson had 11 points.

The Warriors got off to a great start and jumped out to a 26-8 lead after one quarter behind three treys from Marcus Glock.
The half ended with Wahoo up 43-28. Wahoo still led 50-36, when a 6-0 run stretched the lead to 20 at 56-36. The Warriors lead 64-38 after three quarters, and would lead by as much as 29 at 74-45, before ending with the 77-52 win.
“I thought we were terrific in the first quarter,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We moved the ball really well and our intensity on the defensive end was really good as well. It was a good win for us, and we just felt like we were much sharper than we were on Wednesday.”

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Seward Bluejays 59-44 in the first round of the 2022 Holiday Tournament in Wahoo.
The game was tied at 10 after one quarter. Seward took their first lead at 17-16 midway through the second quarter. The Warriors led 24-22 when they went on a 7-0 run to end the half and go to the halftime break with a 31-22 lead.
Wahoo took control in the third quarter as they outscored the Bluejays 17-7 to take a 48-29 lead into the fourth quarter. The lead would grow as large as 23 at 55-32, before settling for the 59-44 win.
“The first 14 minutes we were playing like a team that just had a six-day break, which we were. I thought the last two minutes of the half, and the third quarter, that we played much better,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We were very impatient early and had a lot of bad turnovers.”

In a December match up of the top two rated teams in C-1, the Wahoo Warriors were defeated by the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays 52-49. A three-point shot at the buzzer went in and out, and the Bluejays held on for the win.
Wahoo jumped out to an 8-2 lead to start the game, behind a trey from Anthony Simon, a Marcus Glock field goal, and a trey from Owen Hancock. Ashland came back to take a 12-10 lead after one quarter.
The second quarter stayed close, and Ashland lead at the break 19-17.
The Warriors went up 28-24, on baskets by Benji Nelson and Hancock. The Warriors had the ball late in the third quarter up 4, but a turnover, followed by a Bluejay trey to end the quarter, cut the Warrior lead to 28-27 after three.
The Warriors still led 32-31, when Ashland went on a 10-2 run to go up 41-34. A Nelson bucket followed by two Kamron Kasischke free throws cut the lead to 42-38.
Ashland would take a 49-41 lead with 35 seconds to play. A Benji trey cut the lead to 49-44 with 23 seconds left. A Kasischke steal and layup cut the lead to 49-46 with 18 seconds left. A Bluejay free throw made it 50-46 with 10 seconds left. A Glock trey with 5 seconds left made it 50-49. Two Bluejay free throws made it 52-49 with 3 seconds left. The Warriors got a good luck from the top of the key at the buzzer that would have tied the game, but the shot went in and out.
“We just did not play well enough to win a big game against a really good team,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “We did not shoot it well enough or defend well enough. Give Ashland credit for making the plays that they did and for playing really good defense. I thought Owen Hancock played a really good game for us.”
The Warriors were 17-45 (37.8%) from the field, while Ashland was 16-27 (59.3%).
The Warriors fell to 4-1 and their next game will be in the Holiday Tournament against Seward. Ashland-Greenwood improved to 6-0.

The Blue Devils jumped out to leads of 5-1 and 8-3 in the first quarter. A three from Marcus Glock, an Anthony Simon three-point play, and another field goal from Glock got the game tied at 11 after one quarter of play.
Wayne hit three consecutive treys to open the second quarter to take a 20-11 lead. A Garrett Grandgenett trey made it 20-14. A Glock trey cut the lead to 20-17. After two Blue Devil free throws, a Trey Simon layup made it 22-19. Two A. Simon free throws made it 22-21. A Glock three-point play, an Owen Hancock layup, and another Glock bucket completed a 17-2 Warrior run to make it 28-22. The Warriors went to the half up 30-25.
A 17-2 Warrior run to start the second half increased the Wahoo lead to 47-27 midway through the third quarter, and the Warriors cruised to the 66-37 win.
“This was a good win against an always tough Wayne team,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “Adversity hit us in that first half, and I was really proud of our kids for not getting rattled. They just continued to play hard, and good things started happening for us. That is a sign of a good veteran team. Marcus Glock had a heck of a night shooting, and our kids did a great job of finding him and getting it to the hot hand.”
Glock had 24 points on 5-6 shooting from behind the arc, and was 9-11 overall from the field to go with 4 boards and 4 steals. Grandgenett added 8 points. Kamron Kasischke had 4 steals. A. Simon had 5 assists and 4 boards.
The Warriors were 9-16 from the three-point line (56.3%) and 17-24 (70.8%) from two-point range. Wahoo forced 20 Blue Devil turnovers, while committing just 7 themselves.
Wahoo improved to 3-0 and will travel to Nebraska City next Saturday afternoon. Wayne fell to 3-1.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Aurora Huskies 76-40 on Saturday afternoon in Wahoo.
The Warriors got off to a great start, as they scored the first 7 points of the game, then increased the lead to 14-2, and led 22-4 after one period of play. Wahoo continued to build the lead throughout the second quarter, and led 46-19 at the break.
The running clock started late in the third quarter, as the Warriors led 69-26 after three.
“I thought things really clicked today. The effort was outstanding. We shared the ball well, and we played fast. I felt like we took a huge step today from the Bennington game. We got some great contributions from everyone who played,” said Head Coach Kevin Scheef.
Marcus Glock led the Warriors with 19 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor to go with 7 boards. Benji Nelson had 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the floor, including 4 dunks. Anthony Simon added 11 points on 5-5 shooting from the line, to go with 5 boards and 4 steals. Kamron Kasischke had 8 points and 5 assists, and Owen Hancock had 7 points to go with a game high 9 boards and 4 assists.
The Warriors outrebounded Aurora 35-21 and forced 16 turnovers while committing 10.
Wahoo improved to 2-0, while Aurora fell to 0-2. Wahoo will travel to Logan View on Thursday night.

The Wahoo Warriors defeated the Bennington Badgers in the season opener on Thursday night in Bennington, 60-43.
Bennington jumped out to an 8-2 lead to start the game. The Warriors got the game tied up at 10 to end the quarter.
The score was still tied at 17 with about three minutes to play in the half. Wahoo then went on a 12-3 run to end the half, keyed by back-to-back treys from Owen Hancock and Marcus Glock, followed by an Anthony Simon lay up late in the half.
The Warriors stretched the lead to 50-37 after three quarters and went on to the 60-43 win.
“We got off to a slow start, but after the first four minutes, I thought we controlled the game pretty well, and were able to slowly build and maintain the lead,” commented Head Coach Kevin Scheef. “I thought we shared the ball pretty well, and we were pretty solid on the defensive end.”
Benji Nelson led four Warriors in double figures with 15 points. Hancock and Glock both contributed 13 points and 6 boards, and Simon had 11 points and 6 boards. Kamron Kasischke had a game-high 5 steals.
The Warriors outrebounded the Badgers 29-23 and forced 22 turnovers, while committing just 13.
Wahoo will host Aurora on Saturday afternoon.
