Five Wahoo Elementary Students Selected for State Children's Honor Choir
November 15 Concert Sponsored by the NE Choral Directors Association
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Nebraska Choral Directors Association is proud to sponsor the 2008 Sing Around Nebraska Children’s Honor Choir. This event will be held on November 14-15 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska. The choir of 150 fifth and sixth graders is selected from across the state through an audition process.
Selected from Wahoo Elementary School are Anna Gottschalk, Morgan Novak, Dani Jo Groff, Avery Freeman, and Clayton Redding. They will rehearse with and perform under a guest clinician, Dr. Angela Broeker, from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Also performing at this concert will be three collegiate choirs.
In order to audition for this Honor Choir each student had to work with Mrs. Laughlin after school to make an accapella recording singing two different songs and scales testing the vocal range.
If anyone is interested in tickets, you may contact Mrs. Laughlin for a form to send or you may purchase tickets the evening of the concert. The concert will be Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
