Three Elementary Students Place in State Fair Art Exhibit

First, Third, and Sixth Place Ribbons Awarded

    Three Wahoo Elementary students have placed in the 2005 Nebraska State Fair Art Exhibit.

    WES third grader Lindsey H. won the first place ribbon, along with a wooden plaque and a $100 savings bond. Giselle H. (2nd grade) received third place, and Kody F. (4th grade) received sixth place.

    The theme was 'Nebraska', requiring the students to draw a Nebraska scene where many people would gather.

    Wahoo Elementary Art Teacher Sue Klemme sends in close to 50 entries every year.

    Klemme commented that there have only been two or three first-place winners prior to Lindsey H., and she is extremely pleased with the other drawings that placed this year. She also said that the students worked hard for about three weeks on these pictures last school year.
