Fifth Graders Take "Wiggly" Kindergartners under Their Wings
Students Take Book Buddy Concept to New Heights!
More than just Book Buddies!
Mrs. Verna Rezac's fifth graders and Mrs. Kim Thrasher's kindergartners are more than just neighbors this year, they are book buddies.
This year their classes are right across the hall from one another.
The fifth graders are natural teachers and warmed up to the wiggly little kindergartners right away.
"I am not sure if they read or giggle more with one another. Either way, friendships are in the making," Thrasher commented. "Having the opportunity to have kindergartners and fifth graders so close has proven to be a sweet and encouraging experience."
The fifth graders help the younger students find the restroom, open lockers that are stuck, and even find their classroom when they get turned around in the hallway. The kindergartners think that the fifth graders are kind of like super heroes, and the fifth graders don't seem to mind having a little friend that looks up to them!
