Middle School Students Share School Supplies with Poverty-Stricken Countries around the World
Students Fill over 40 School Kits for Lutheran World Relief

Wahoo Middle School students have been helping Lutheran World Relief for the past three years by collecting school supplies each fall. This year, students collected enough rulers, notebooks, scissors, construction paper, erasers and pencil sharpeners to fill more than 40 school kits!
Ladies from Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo sew school bags by hand. Each kit (one of each type of school supply) is placed into a hand-sewn bag by the ladies from Bethlehem and then shipped to Minneapolis for bulk packaging. After each school kit has been combined with a health kit and a quilt, the supplies are then shipped to countries around the world with communities in need.
Supplies collected by last year's middle school students were shipped to places like Nicaragua, Tanzania and countries in the former Soviet Union. WMS 8th graders Dillon Rademaker, Bailee Schubauer, William Holdsworth, Thomas McAtee and Hannah Christensen organized the school effort and are proud of their classmates' efforts.
