WMS 7th Graders Reconstruct Famous Italian Landmark in Hallway
Students Create Leaning Tower of Pisa with Shoeboxes
The Leaning Tower of Pisa at Wahoo Middle School?!
Yes, we do have the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the Middle School, but not the famous structure in Italy.
Wahoo Middle School seventh graders are learning about Southern Europe in Mrs. Walker’s World Geography class.
So far the students have learned about Greece and Italy. Students constructed Wahoo Middle School’s version of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa using shoeboxes. It took lots of hard work, duct tape and string, but the students have gotten it stabilized. You could almost say they did restorations on it just like the real Leaning Tower of Pisa!
Students also learned how the ancient tribe known as the Latins established a colony in Rome, thus the birth of the Roman Empire. They’ve also learned about the culture of this region, and how Italy’s economy and government have changed over time.
