7th Graders Visit Zoo
Students Apply Knowledge from Animal Behavior Unit
On a recent beautiful autumn day, the 7th graders went to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo.
This field trip was an extension of what they had been studying in Science class. The animal unit mainly focused on animal behavior. Each group had a camera on hand to capture certain behaviors that were discussed in class.
They also sought out other information in a scavenger hunt that had to do with topics they had learned about.
Each group brought back that information and worked together on a presentation. The students used the free website Prezi.com to complete this, which was new for them. They then shared their work with all of their classmates. It was fun to go to the zoo and apply the knowledge they gained in the classroom with the real world.
