WMS Student Council visits residents of South Haven
Students initiate opportunity to spend quality time with local elderly
The Wahoo Middle School Student Council recently traveled to South Haven to provide an enjoyable experience for their residents. We brought 11 students total, a mix of officers and representatives, and did an art project.
The residents enjoyed communicating with the students and telling their interesting stories. We all showed great gratitude for this opportunity.
Many questions were asked about the residents’ lives, like “where are you from?,” “do you have any kids?,” and “What is your favorite thing to do here?.” The residents were thrilled to provide this information. The students were interested and showed they cared. The residents were also very grateful. This was a great way for our students to give their service to our community. The pictures attached are photos of their artwork and the process of creating them.
A student council officer said this when asked about the experience: “It was nice to get to know some of the residents and hear their stories. I am very glad we got to provide our service and have fun in the process.”
