Three WHS Students Earn Places in 2010 Class B All-State Band
All-State Concert Scheduled for March 27 at Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThree Wahoo High School students found out this past week that they have been accepted into the 2010 Nebraska Class B All-State Honor Band, to be held on March 26 and 27 at the Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Try-outs were recorded and then sent to judges, who picked a 57-member ensemble out of the top students from all across the state of Nebraska.
The students representing Wahoo Public Schools are:
Hillary Fick – Clarinet
Kayla Coffey – Clarinet
Joseph Nabity – Trombone
The guest conductor for the 2010 Class B All-State Band is Dean Rettedal, Director of Bands at Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. This year’s All-State Band will be performing the following pieces:
The Liberty Bell................................Sousa
Nightflight.........................................Swearingen
Rise Of The Firebird.........................Reineke
The Phantom Of The Opera.............Webber/arr. Barker
The concert is on Saturday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the Johnny Carson Theater at Norfolk High School.
