Three WHS Students Earn Places in 2010 Class B All-State Band
All-State Concert Scheduled for March 27 at Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk
Three Wahoo High School students found out this past week that they have been accepted into the 2010 Nebraska Class B All-State Honor Band, to be held on March 26 and 27 at the Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Try-outs were recorded and then sent to judges, who picked a 57-member ensemble out of the top students from all across the state of Nebraska.
The students representing Wahoo Public Schools are:
Hillary Fick – Clarinet
Kayla Coffey – Clarinet
Joseph Nabity – Trombone
The guest conductor for the 2010 Class B All-State Band is Dean Rettedal, Director of Bands at Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. This year’s All-State Band will be performing the following pieces:
The Liberty Bell................................Sousa
Nightflight.........................................Swearingen
Rise Of The Firebird.........................Reineke
The Phantom Of The Opera.............Webber/arr. Barker
The concert is on Saturday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the Johnny Carson Theater at Norfolk High School.
