Holdsworth qualifies for prestigious 2017 All-State Band!
WHS senior earns All-State honor for 3rd straight year in alto sax
For three days, students from all over Nebraska gathered in Lincoln for All-State Music and the Nebraska Music Education Association’s (NMEA) yearly conference.
Students are selected for this yearly event based off of a difficult audition process. This year, over 2,000 students from across Nebraska auditioned for the different All-State Ensembles.
WHS senior Sydney Holdsworth was selected for the band on alto saxophone, and she received 4th chair placement. This was her 3rd year qualifying for the All-State Band!
These students enjoyed the opportunity to rehearse with nationally recognized clinicians, along with the state’s best high school musicians.
On Saturday, November 18, the All-State ensembles finished their week with a performance at the Lied Center in Lincoln.
This event is an extremely rewarding musical experience for all involved, and a huge honor for the students that participated. Well done Sydney!
