Warrior band students attend annual Cornhusker Exhibition
Students learning marching band fundamentals at Memorial Stadium
On Friday, August 23, 41 students traveled to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Cornhusker Marching Band put on their annual free exhibition for the public. This is the second consecutive year that Wahoo band students have attended this event. It is the last day of summer camp for the college band as they gear up for the coming football season.
Not only does the marching band go through their pre-game routine, but also they show the audience the fundamentals of marching. This includes a drill down “elimination” game in which the whole band has to follow split second commands in quick succession. If they are caught performing the incorrect task they are out!
The last person standing wins immense bragging rights and is hoisted on shoulders. The Cornhusker Marching Band has a long history of excellence and this year is no exception.
