Wahoo qualifies 9 (NINE!) for All-State Music!
Eight Warrior musicians secure their place in the 2022 NMEA All-State Chorus; one will take his clarinet to All-State Band!
There are countless reasons to be impressed by the accomplishments of the WHS Music Program. Add last week's 2022 All-State announcement to the list!
Since July, Wahoo High School choir students have been working on the Nebraska All-State chorus music. Auditions were held at the end of September.
This choir is very select, containing members from around the state of Nebraska. These students have worked extremely hard and their early mornings and late afternoon rehearsals have paid off!
Approximately 3,000 Nebraska students auditioned for the Nebraska Music Education Association's (NMEA) All-State ensembles, and eight Wahoo students were selected into the chorus ensemble! Congratulations to Ales Adamec (Tenor 2), Michael Carranza (Bass 1), David Divis (Tenor 1), Alicia Foster (Alto 1), Marisol Marquez (Soprano 2), Dawson Rafteseth (Bass 2), Maddie Snyder (Soprano 2), and Landon Spicka (Bass 1)!
"If you can dream it, you can do it!" exclaimed WHS Vocal Music Director Leighton Ware.
One Wahoo student was selected into the NMEA All-State Band! Congratulations Anthony Rowe (Clarinet)!
"I am super proud of all of our students that auditioned," commented WHS Instrumental Director Jason Smith. "It is a tough process and all the students that tried out grew as musicians. Anthony worked really hard and will have an amazing experience playing top notch repertoire with brilliant musicians."
These students will trek to Lincoln November 16-18 for the 2022 NMEA All-State Conference in the Westbrook Music Building near the UNL main campus, and their experience will be capped off with a concert at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
