Warrior Marching Band Ends Year with 6-Day Trip to Washington D.C.
Band to Perform in May 30 National Memorial Day Parade
The Wahoo High School Marching Band will be traveling to Washington D.C. on Friday, May 27 to march in the National Memorial Day Parade.
The parade will take place on Monday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. Central Time. We will march down Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street.
The remainder of the trip will consist of touring Washington D.C. with a professional tour guide, and the Band will have the honor to take part in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 31. The band will arrive back in Wahoo on Wednesday, June 1.
This is a trip that will give many students and adults an opportunity to visit our nation's capital, and to honor our veterans by participating in the National Memorial Day Parade. The parade will be by far one of the biggest parades our band has marched in. It will be
a very humbling experience to also take part in the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We could go to many other cities or parades, but to go visit a part of our nation's history and memorials will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
