WHS Students Attend Writing Workshop for Young Women
UNL Professor Helps Students Enhance Poetry Writing Skills
University of Nebraska professor Dana Kinzy recently kept six Wahoo High School girls busy writing poetry at her writing workshop at the Seward Civic Center.
“I thought it was the best workshop we’ve attended,” WHS English Teacher Larry Fangman said. “The girls did a lot of writing. They shared their poems. They wrote a lot of high quality poems. And they had fun doing it!”
Wahoo students attending the workshop were Emily Spicka, Dayna Gulliksen, Kayla Coffey, Lindsey Luers, Melissa Ford, Kali Hauschild,, Ally Roth, and Katie Sloup.
What if?

What if there was a place for you—yourself to hide?
What if this magical place was where you could be you?
What if you only wanted to be in this place forever?
What if that place was a person, a person you trusted your soul with?
What if that person never thought about you the way you thought about him?
Would you stop trying? Lose your magical place... nobody knew the real you,
You couldn’t risk it could you? You wouldn’t be the same.
What if in the end you finally got what you set out for?
What if you in the end had a magical place for the both of you?
What if?
If it was really possible,
Your dreams finally come true,
You could finally be yourself, anywhere, anytime,
You had your magical place,
Why not share it?
Why not make others feel the way you feel?
If only there was a magical place for everyone.
