Artwork of WHS Spanish 2 students displayed at Sheldon Art Museum
Class projects enhance study of 'Day of the Dead'
The artwork of several talented WHS Spanish 2 students was recently on display in the Sheldon Art Museum on the campus of UNL.
Every student in Spanish 2 created their own “Papel Picado” (traditional décor for el Día de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead). A few students—gifted in cutting paper—made larger Papel Picados to decorate the museum’s windows.
Students gave up study halls and time after school to complete the project.
Students creating the larger works include: Corby Brigham, Matt Dobesh, Andrew Smith, Patrick Wolf, Caleb McGill, Cody Hayworth, Trevor Wood, Seth Syverson and Zoe Meeusen-Norris.
