Kendal Brigham: Runza Student of the Week!
WHS senior recognized for academic & athletic excellence
Congratulations to WHS senior Kendal Brigham, who was recently announced as Runza's Student of the Week!
"Balancing homework, school & community involvement, and one's personal life is a difficult challenge in high school. Some students do this so well we feel they should be recognized," commented Runza's website. "Runza Restaurants and KETV created a partnership to honor senior students for their achievements in the classroom and in the community and provide them a $500 scholarship for college."
Brigham received the award for her excellence in the classroom, athletics, school activities, and in her service to the community. She is the daughter of Rob Brigham and the late Kim Brigham of Wahoo, and was nominated for the award by WHS Physical Education Instructor Trish Larson.
"Kendal is just a great kid who has a lot of perseverence and grit, and is always the first person at practice and school, and always the last one to leave," Larson commented.
Brigham has an impressive 3.99 GPA. She is a three-sport athlete, serves as captain of the Warrior Basketball team, and vice president of Wahoo High School's National Honor Society. She also participates in volleyball, track, Multicultural Club, Spanish Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Circle of Friends, and WHS Blue Crue. Next year she plans to attend Concordia University.
"Kendal is a great choice for the RSOTW!" stated WHS Principal Jarred Royal. "She represents our school and community in a positive way both on and off the court. Kendal is a great role model for our younger students and demonstrates this by being involved in multiple activities."
WHS Guidance Counselor John Harris agreed.
"Kendal is a student who is very deserving of this honor," Harris said. "She embodies what it mean to be a true 'student/athlete.' She will be quite successful in college because of her team-first attitude, determination and attention to detail."
Congratulations Kendal on earning this honor!
