NSAA & U.S. Bank announce 2021-2022 'Believers & Achievers' local school winners
Abbey Borchers, Mya Larson, and Carson Lavaley recognized for active involvement & positive leadership
U.S. Bank and the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) are proud to announce the 2021-22 local school winners of the Believers & Achievers award.
Believers & Achievers is a state-wide program designed by U.S. Bank and the NSAA to give recognition to Nebraska’s future leaders . . . honoring those most noted for their commitment to citizenship, school involvement, and community projects.
This year's local Wahoo High School winners are seniors Abigail Borchers, Mya Larson, and Carson Lavaley.
Borchers, Larson, and Lavaley will now compete from local finalists throughout the state. In October, 48 Nebraska high school seniors will be named as this year's 'Believers & Achievers" finalists. From those 48 finalists, eight will receive $500 scholarships from U.S. Bank to the college or university of their choice, presented at a banquet to be held in April of 2022.
Finalists will also be recognized at NSAA State Championships throughout the rest of the 2021-22 activities year, and on a poster sent to all NSAA member schools and U.S. Bank branches throughout the state.
"On behalf of the Wahoo Public Schools Administrative Team, we are proud of Abbey Borchers, Mya Larson, and Carson Lavaley as our recipents of the 2021-2022 U.S. Bank & NSAA Believers and Achievers school award," commented WHS Assistant Principal Robert Barry. "These students commit daily to pursue excellence in and out of the classroom and participate in multiple activities throughout our school district. Their positive attitudes, determination, kindness, and work ethic are the foundation of the culture that we have here at Wahoo High School. We are extremely grateful for all of their efforts."
Congratulations Abbey, Mya, and Carson on this honor, and good luck in the finalist competition!
