Congratulations to Wahoo Middle/High School Vocal Director Julie Baker-Anderson for being nominated by the Nebraska State Education Association for the 2010 NEA Foundation Awards for Teaching Excellence!
This award recognizes instructional expertise, advocacy for the profession, community engagement, attention to diversity, and leadership in professional development.
Baker-Anderson will be honored at the NEA Foundation's Annual Salute to Excellence in Education Gala in Washington, D.C. on February 12, 2010.
Recognizing that an environment that encourages teamwork and excellence from students and educators breeds success like that achieved by Baker-Anderson, the NEA Foundation also forwarded a check for $750.
"We hope that you will use this gift for instructional materials and supplies or professional development that benefits all of your educators (who have undoubtedly contributed to Julie's success)," stated NEA Foundation President & CEO Harriet Sanford in a letter to the district. "This gift demonstrates our sincere appreciation of support shown to Julie as the Nebraska recipient of this award."
