WHS junior receives "Nebraska Young Artist" recognition
Rachael Meyer to attend visual art awards day at UNL on Apr. 9

WHS junior Rachael Meyer has been selected by the faculty of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts to participate in the Nebraska Young Artist Awards Day on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in the area of Visual Art.
The students who received this award will have an afternoon of activities in the Union Ballroom on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. They will be involved in classes, tours, and performances by the UNL faculty and students. At the end of the day there will be an awards ceremony at the Sheldon Art Museum.
Meyer applied for this award by filling out some information about herself and her artwork. She sent in one piece of artwork and a letter of recommendation from her high school art teacher, Mrs. Kim Brigham.
“Rachael is a very talented and creative artist who is very deserving of this award!” Brigham commented.
