Lauren Crockett: Runza Student of the Week!
WHS senior honored for academic & athletic excellence
Congratulations to WHS senior Lauren Crockett, who was recently announced as Runza's Student of the Week!
"Balancing homework, school & community involvement, and one's personal life is a difficult challenge in high school. Some students do this so well we feel they should be recognized," according to Runza's website. "Runza Restaurants and KETV created a partnership to honor senior students for their achievements in the classroom and in the community and provide them a $500 scholarship for college."
Crockett received the award for her excellence in the classroom, school activities, and in her service to the community. She is the daughter of Greg and Ann Crockett of Wahoo, and was nominated for the award by WHS Spanish Instructor Cass Didier.
"When I received the email for this opportunity in August, nominating Lauren was a no brainer," Didier stated. "Lauren is the only senior in our homeroom, and my favorite part of Warrior Period is being able to watch students grow throughout their four years. In my eyes Lauren has been a candidate since her freshman year. I'm thrilled she has been recognized for her hard work on and off the court."
The video below was featured on the Channel 7 KETV news broadcast on Sunday night, Nov. 29.
Congratulations Lauren on this honor!
