NSAA & Currency Announce 2023-2024 'Believers & Achievers' Local School Winners
Sidney Smart, Avery Wieting, and Cadance Bailar recognized for active involvement & positive leadership
Currency and the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) are proud to announce the 2023-24 local school winners of the Believers & Achievers award.
Believers & Achievers is a state-wide program designed by Currency and the NSAA to give recognition to Nebraska’s future leaders . . . honoring those most noted for their commitment to citizenship, school involvement, and community projects.
This year's Wahoo High School winners are seniors Sidney Smart, Avery Wieting, and Cadance Bailar.
Smart, Wieting, and Bailar will now compete among local finalists throughout the state. In October, 48 Nebraska high school seniors will be named as this year's 'Believers & Achievers" finalists. From those 48 finalists, eight will receive $500 scholarships to the college or university of their choice, presented by Currency at an end-of-year banquet to celebrate their achievements.
The pictures and profiles of six Believers & Achievers will be featured monthly in the NSAA News on the NSAA website. All 48 Finalists will also be recognized at NSAA State Championships throughout the rest of the 2022-23 activities year, and on a poster will be produced and sent to all NSAA member schools throughout the state.
"On behalf of the Wahoo Public Schools Administrative Team, we are proud of Sidney Smart, Avery Wieting, and Cadance Bailar as our recipients of the 2023-2024 Currency Believers and Achievers school award," commented WHS Assistant Principal and Activities Director Robert Barry. "These students commit daily to pursuing excellence in and out of the classroom. Their determination, kindness, and work ethic are the foundation of the culture we have here at Wahoo High School. We are extremely proud of Sidney, Avery, and Cadance and are grateful for their positive attitudes and efforts."
Congratulations, Sidney, Avery, and Cadance on this honor, and good luck in the finalist competition!
